10/10 Excellent

This cabin likely started as a one room cabin with a loft from around the early to mid 1800s. The bedroom furniture is also from the late 1800s so it makes me think it may have always been there. It's a true relic of Appalachian family living through generations. It was very cool. It also barely had one neighbor you could see and had a nice view. Other historic property elements were the outhouse with a toilet seat from the 1850-1880 period, a later shed that was most likely built early to mid 1900s and a grave marker that was likely from a child or wife. Some kids wrote on it with pen, which is pretty disrespectful, but overall it was well preserved despite the add on renovations that made for a comfortable stay with all of the amenities you would need for a few days away with the family. The only change I would make are the check out and check in times. It's an hour later for check in and an hour earlier for checkout than almost every other cabin in the area and it costs an extra 35 for each to change it. Other than that, it was cozy and peaceful. We will be back and recommend it to anyone else who appreciates peace, quiet, and Appalachian history.
