Getting Around:
Raton is a small town so walking is easy but parking is plentiful so driving is fine too. La Casita sits just off 2nd Street — the main corridor through Raton — with everything downtown walkable from your door. Bruno's Pizza, Casa Lemus, Colfax Ale Cellar, and Coffee Sage are all within a few blocks. Climax Canyon Park, a nationally recognized trail system, is a short walk away.
Capulin Volcano National Monument is 25 minutes out. The NRA Whittington Center is minutes from town. Sugarite Canyon State Park offers hiking, fishing, and kayaking just outside Raton. For hunters, northeastern New Mexico is some of the most productive elk and mule deer country in the West.
Other Things to Note:
La Casita is the only pet-friendly property in the portfolio — dogs considered with prior approval. $50 nightly pet fee, $75 for multiple pets, $150 deposit.
All three downtown Raton properties are on the same block and together sleep up to 13 guests. Ideal for larger groups — message about combined availability.
Looking for a remote ranch experience? We also host at our working cattle ranch 35 miles west — dark skies, volcanic landscape, and a completely different escape. Ask us for details.
