Seit der Neuübernahme hat das Hotel leider stark abgebaut. Der Check-in erfolgt mittlerweile über einen Automaten, was für uns die erste negative Überraschung war. Ein Mitarbeiter vor Ort erklärte uns, dass er nur für das Restaurant zuständig sei und für das Hotel selbst kein Personal präsent ist. Bei Fragen wurde man auf eine Telefonnummer verwiesen. Besonders enttäuschend war das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen. Das Angebot war sehr lieblos und unvollständig: Es gab lediglich einige vertrocknete Semmeln, aber kein Brot und keine Auswahl an Müsli oder Haferflocken. Das angebotene Joghurt war leider ungenießbar und sauer. Zudem kam es ständig zu Engpässen – Besteck, Geschirr, Eier und Tee waren regelmäßig vergriffen. Die warmen Speisen überzeugten ebenfalls nicht, da die Spiegeleier an beiden Tagen auf der Unterseite komplett verbrannt waren. Am zweiten Tag war der schwarze Tee komplett aus und wurde erst auf Nachfrage aus einem Restbestand geholt; ein Nachkauf fand nicht statt. Auch die Kaffeemaschine funktionierte die meiste Zeit über nicht. Unter den früheren Betreibern haben wir so etwas hier nie erlebt. Sehr schade um das Hotel.

Die Zimmer sind deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Der Frühstücksraum war eine Zumutung. Viele Ameisen waren af dem Boden unterwegs. Zudem war der Boden sehr verdreckt. An der Wand lag noch Müll, wahrscheinlich von der letzten Veranstaltung. Als ich eine Rechnung für den Aufenthalt wollte, wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass die Rezeption eigentlich nie besetzt ist und er wäre kein Mitarbeiter des Hotels. Einziger Weg an eine Rechnung zu kommen ist das Hotel nach der Reise schriftlich zu kontaktieren und eine Rechnung anzufragen. Die Lage des Hotels ist aber sehr schön, direkt an der Thaya, mit Blick auf die Burg.

Schöne Lage in der Altstadt und direkt an der Thaya. Für den Preis sehr in Ordnung.
