In the hamlet of Schievenin, there is a renowned and very popular rock-climbing wall. The Totemburg (Fortress of the Dead), which stands above a bend in the Piave River, deserves special mention. Personally commissioned by Hitler to commemorate German soldiers who fell in World War I, it was a gift from Mussolini to his ally. Built from red Pordoi stone, it was inaugurated in May 1939. Admission is free. The territory of Quero is part of the Prosecco di Valdobbiadene/Conegliano DOCG region. In short, it’s a strategic base for exploring the wonderful region of Veneto.
