Lovely location with incredible reviews. Seeing the released red macaws on site was a treat. Tours booked via the hotel were excellent and we appreciated the recourse when one of our tours did not work out. Really loved the upper sunset deck. Restaurant was decent. Fantastic hotel wit high clean rooms, lovely restaurant and the friendliest staff. The restaurant staff and the security and logistics guys were absolutely amazing and couldn’t do enough for you. The macaw tour is a must do and if you want to visit the national park please book through the hotel and request Clarence- he was superb. His knowledge and enthusiasm was second to none.

Overall it was underwhelming. The photos make it appear much nicer than it really is. Quite rundown in areas, and virtually no frills in the bar or restaurant area. Food quality was decent - sushi was the best thing we ate. Overall it seems like it was an updated resort back in the day but has not been kept up. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was supposed to have an ocean view but really did not have even a partial ocean view. Aside from that everything was excellent, service was great, breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were delicious, and the view from the pool was lovely. We had nice treatments from the spa as well. I enjoyed the birds on the property and especially appreciated the Scarlet macaw and rehabilitation program and reserve on the property.
