The Gibbston House was perfect! The owners/hosts, Mary & Terry were lovely and so hospitable. We truly enjoyed our stay for 4 nights. Each morning the breakfast was delicious, the afternoon snack and wine was superb and we loved chatting with Mary & Terry (hosts/owners) and also meeting all of the guests from around the world. We had the most fabulous stay! The entire experience was way beyond what we were expecting. It was extremely comfortable, inviting, clean, spacious. Stunning property

Absolutely stunning property and service! Beautiful house on a stunning setting overlooking vineyards and the mountains. Extremely friendly hosts offering cheese platters and wine/beer in the late afternoon and amazing breakfasts each morning. They were also very knowledgeable and helpful in regards to the area and local vineyards. We were also welcomed by two very cute little dogs. Definitely recommend Gibbston House to anyone wanting a bit out luxury while exploring the area.

このホテルは、自然志向で、犬好き、レンタカー利用の方にはおすすめする、隠れ家的なB&Bです。ワイナリーが隣接する高速道路から一歩奥まった私道の中にあるホテルです。敷地も広く、たくさんの木々で囲まれていますので、本当に静かです。アジア人の宿泊は多いそうですが、日本人は、我々が初めてでした。オーナーの方が優しく控えめな方ですので、落ち着け、気さくに話せます。２匹の犬がとてもフレンドリーで癒されます。午後６時から７時の応接間でのカクテル提供では、つまみ類も充実しています（客同士の会話も盛り上がるそうです）。オーナーの方の厳選された地元のワインは美味しかったです。部屋は４室のみで、夕食は提供されません。そのため、近くのワイナリー・レストランに行くか、テイクアウト品を持ち帰り食べるか、自炊しかありません。朝食は提供されます。オーナー自慢のオムレツを美味しくいただきました。またオーナーの育てられたバラの一輪挿しが、諸所に生けられており、花や香りを楽しめました。 尚、各部屋で設備（キッチン、浴槽、ベランダなど）が異なりますので、予約前に直接確認されたほが良いです。シャワーのみで良いなら、アパートメントタイプは、自炊設備と洗濯機もありおすすめです。我々は、アパートメントタイプ（オーナーの都合もあり一泊アップグレードされた）と、浴槽のある当初予定の２階ベランダタイプ（ただし電子レンジなし）に２泊まりました。ベランダからは、敷地内の朝夕に野兎や各種の野鳥を見ることができます。我々は幸運にも、夜は快晴で、満天の星や南十字星を見れました。この地域も、テカポ湖と同様に星空はきれいだそうです。クイーンズタウンから車で30分くらいですが、ここからは、アロータウン（２０分）、ワナカ湖（１時間）、クロムウェル（２０分）、テカポ湖（３時間）にアクセスが良いです。ワイナリーも多数あり、このホテルのすぐそばに２か所あります。Mt ローザ・ワイナリーは、人気が高く人も多いです。ブレナン・ワイナリーは小家族経営ですが、過去に赤ワインのピノノワールで世界一を受賞しています（ニュージーランド航空のビジネスクラスでワイン「B２」が提供されています）。ワインのテイスティングは要予約です。我々はMtローザでテイスティング・ランチをしました（ブレナンが第一希望でしたが、イースターでお休みでした）。ほかにも高速道路添いに何件も有名なワイナリーがあります。我々は4月第一週のイースター直後に行きましたが、実際にはイースターをはさんで２週間が学校がお休みとなり、この期間は家族ずれの観光客も多かったです。４月中旬から下旬が、黄紅葉がピークとなり、見ごたえがあります。 自然で静かな環境でゆっくりしたい方で、レンタカー利用ができる方にはおすすめなホテルです。ただし、都会のホテルのようなセンスとレストランや交通アクセスなど利便性を望まれる方は、隣接する大手のワイナリー・コテージなどのほうが良いかもしれません。

Excellent location amongst the many wineries in Gibbston Valley. Mary and Terry were wonderful hosts, who gave us some great tips on what to see and do - awesome for us as first time visitors in NZ. Would definitely stay again.
