Purcellville, Virginia – Hattingh Equine Rescue & Rehab Inc is introducing a unique new way for the community to support rescued horses — by booking a peaceful countryside getaway. We call the cottage 'A slice of heaven'
Located in the rolling hills of Purcellville, the newly launched Hattingh Equine Rescue Farm Cottage offers a private two-bedroom, one-bath retreat set beside the nonprofit’s working rescue farm. Guests can relax by a private pool, gather around a fire pit under open skies, and wake to the sight and sound of horses grazing just beyond the porch.
Unlike traditional short-term rentals, every stay directly supports the rehabilitation, veterinary care, and daily feed costs of rescued horses.
“Our mission has always been to give horses a second chance,” said Michele Hattingh, founder of Hattingh Equine Rescue & Rehab Inc. “This farm stay allows guests to be part of that mission while enjoying the beauty and serenity of Virginia wine country.”
Guests may visit the barn while a staff member is present to learn about the rescue’s work and meet some of the horses whose lives are being transformed.
The cottage sleeps up to four guests and is located minutes from Loudoun County wineries, breweries, hiking trails, and historic downtown Purcellville, making it an ideal weekend retreat for couples, families, and small groups.
Hattingh Equine Rescue hopes the farm stay will create a sustainable revenue stream that strengthens long-term rescue efforts while deepening community connection to animal welfare.
The guests will find pictures of the horses that they may want to sponsor and become part of their lives .we have added a play area for little ones. Plus a hammock for the caregiver
