I recently stayed at Serenade All Suites and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
The biggest issue was the food. Many buffet items seemed undercooked, overcooked, or not properly refrigerated, raising safety concerns. Neither the buffets nor the à la carte restaurants had air conditioning, so dining in 80–90°F heat was uncomfortable. Reservations were frustrating. We were told we didn’t need them for La Palapa at dinner, but we did. Reservations are made through an app, which didn’t work at first and had to be fixed.
Drinks were decent but typical watered-down all-inclusive alcohol. Our room was only cleaned and mini-bar restocked when requested. Room service was the best food we had all week. However, the TV only worked if unplugged and plugged back in, and the door to our patio/swim-up pool didn’t lock, which was concerning.
Service was inconsistent. Some staff were friendly, but often requests went ignored—for example, asking for a Coke at the buffet and never receiving it.
On the positive side, our swim-up pool room was enjoyable, the pools were nice, and the beach was beautiful, though the water had a lot of seaweed (not the resort’s fault).
Overall, a few highlights didn’t outweigh the many negatives. I would not stay here again.
