The entire resort is a dream come true. It is beautiful, clean, the food is exceptional and it has everything you need for a wonderfully relaxing vacation. The staff are beyond amazing in every way. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and it exceeded all expeditions. I’ve never written a review before about a resort but I absolutely had to. I could not recommend this resort enough. We will be coming back for years to come!

My wife and I (early 40s) took a 3-night trip to the Dominican Republic—our first time in the DR and our first all-inclusive. Transportation was booked through Viator and was mixed. We prepaid for round-trip service, but upon arrival told we owed an additional $60 because Viator “doesn’t charge enough” for the distance. With no real options, we paid by credit card (including a 10% fee) so we’d have documentation if needed. That administrative hassle was the main downside. The drivers themselves were excellent, professional, and made us feel safe. The ride was about 45 minutes from the airport and roughly an hour on the return. The staff throughout the resort were fantastic—friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We followed standard tipping guidance: $1 per drink, $7 for the bellhop and room tour, $3 for the minibar, and $5 for housekeeping. Food was generally good but not outstanding. Nothing impressed us greatly, but nothing was bad either. My wife is gluten-free; while options were somewhat limited, she never went hungry and absolutely loved Agave. The beach was beautiful, though I got bitten badly after a short walk—my fault for skipping bug spray. Drinks were excellent; despite having 10+ daily, I never felt drunk. Coco Loco was my favorite. We felt safe. The room safe worked well, and the resort felt secluded. Our garden-view room had vaulted ceilings and was comfortable, though slightly musty at first and the pillows weren’t great—later learned there’s a pillow menu

This was our first visit to Excellence Punta Cana, and we booked the Excellence Master Suite. Our suite was conveniently located near the Excellence Club pool, spa, and restaurant. From the very first day, we met Reizon, who went above and beyond to make our stay special. On Saturday (first day) he even walked us all the way to Olas for lunch. From then on, he took care of us daily—securing beach chairs, arranging a cabana for a day (well worth the fee), and ensuring we felt truly valued. Thanks to him, we found the Excellence Club upgrade worth every penny. The food overall was hit-or-miss, though we had two standout evenings. At Oregano, Yori made sure we received lobster even though it wasn’t on the menu—a thoughtful gesture that completely changed my husband’s impression of the dining experience. Another highlight was The Grill, where we recommend ordering three different steaks to find the one that truly shines. Ingrid, the host at Olas, was incredibly friendly and kind, making us feel welcome every time. We ended up having lunch there regularly because of her warmth. Leidy also stood out—helping us late one night with pillows, and greeting us the next morning at the Excellence Club desk with a smile while assisting with a late checkout request. Thank you to the staff who truly make this resort memorable. While the entertainment left much to be desired (with the Circus show being the only one worth attending), the service more than compensated.

From the moment we checked in we felt like we were at home. There was specific care and attention the entire time we were here. My partner has severe allergies and the staff was more than accommodating and made sure both of our experiences were top notch. The cleanliness of the resort by far is superior to other resorts I have been to. The food was amazing and not once was something lacking. We stayed 6 nights at Excellence Punta Cana. Staff and service were outstanding! Everyone from room service, hostesses, waitstaff to the entertainment team and concierge were very friendly and always ready to help. The resort is very beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The entertainment with nightly shows were great as well. The food quality was ok, but there were few outstanding restaurants like Chez Isabelle and The Spice Hibachi (reservation only), Aroma café (great cappuccino). The gym was very nice too. On Monday nights, they build a village by the pool area with Dominican food and music. Dont know why they don’t have a Dominican restaurant. It would definitely be better than a Mexican restaurant. The Dominican food was amazing. The overall experience was great!!!! We highly recommend the resort.

Looked the quietness and laid-back atmosphere of this resort. The lobby for shows and just relaxing is huge and plenty of chairs. The beach is beautiful and expansive. We reallly loved that there were no chair wars plenty of options both on the beach and at the pools.

I really wanted to give our stay five stars but the problems we had our last day of vacation, and Excellence's and Seasons Transfers Punta Cana lack of response after contacting them twice, overshadowed our whole trip. Excellence misled us on the travel arrangements back to the airport. I paid for a Season's trip back to the airport, but instead received a ride with "Soloman Truck" (I only know that because of the wifi service). Excellence's baggage handler kept telling us for an hour was 5 minutes away. When a car finally did show up we were led us to believe this was a Season's service and was never told about the switch. The vehicle had tears in the upholstery and had engine problems- at one point the vehicle actually stalled. My guests and I felt unsafe in that car. I asked to be reimbursed for the ride to the airport but never heard back from Excellence or Seasons. I will not be returning to that resort. However, the servers and the recreation personnel were very friendly and accomodating.
