Expedia booked my airport in Santo Domingo which is THREE HOURS from punta cana where my resort was. I had no shuttle service which is typically provided by the resort when you are at the airport of the city in which the resort is located. I was on the phone three times back to back with little to no service for over 2 hours with Expedia and they did not accommodate me what so ever. I missed a whole day of my trip because of this major inconvenience and had to pay over $240 in ride fair to and from my resort to the airport. I will NEVER BOOK with Expedia ever again. Why would you book an airport so far away with no shuttle service. Expedia did not provide any customer assistance for me and my friend whatsoever. This was a horrible birthday trip and experience for me. I wasted so much extra money because Expedia wanted some money and didn’t care how they would get it. No one in their right mind would choose an airport three hours from their resort in a foreign country where they speak little to no English to then pay extra money for rides when a shuttle is typically available with your already paid resort fee. I will only book through my credit portal and or anything website and leave Expedia in the dust and I mean that. They will NEVER see me book a trip, vacation, nor flight with them ever again. This was careless of Expedia and I wasn’t the only one y'all did this to.

The room was amazing. Our housekeepers Fanny and Jeanette’s were amazing. In addition Noño and the staff at the buffet were awesome. They always make us feel welcomed. The lobby bartender Santos always took care of us. In addition the guys at the pool bar were great. We had an amazing couples massage in the spa. Thank you for always treating us well. We will definitely be back!

This is a separate compliment to the Expedia Staff Punta Cana air port . We had booked Hertz for a car through Delta . To say the least the attendant at Hertz tried to scam us into $200 dollars per day of extra charges. When we cancelled the car their crony referred us to his friend and the shady SOB who put us in a potentially dangerous situation in a dark corner of the airport. Your Expedia staff put an end to that and connected us with their courteous and prompt staff and driver. Next time Expedia all the way.

Overall, we had a nice time. Staff were very friendly around the resort. The entertainment was great around the pool and beach. We really enjoyed the swim up bar and staff there. Our room was not great. We had a toilet that was clogged when we first got there and they never really fixed it after asking for help. The room was a bit dirty overall. The fridge wasn’t cold for the first half of our stay. The shower water pressure and temperature was very inconsistent. It was interesting having no shower door and completely exposed to the entire room. The food was underwhelming. We had some decent meals and some bad meals. However we did love the MEAT steakhouse food! The seafood market was not good and had hardly any options. The check in and out process was unclear and there was hardly any communication with what to do with our luggage, how to get around the resort, the rules and policies of the resort, etc. We had to figure out ourselves how to book restaurant reservations, what the hours of the pool was, how to find different places within the resort, etc. We were never actually given any information on what they offered. Our shuttle was booked thru the resort (Amstar third party.) The initial shuttle being picked up from the airport was random and very scary getting there. The driver was off-roading and swerving crazily thru traffic. It felt very unsafe. The shuttle leaving, to go back to the airport, was much better and more official/safer. Inconsistent experience.

Bahia Principe Luxury Amber The room was very clean and super comfortable We had a corner suite near the lobby and it was also much larger than we expected AC was challenging but because of the first floor and the ceiling fan we were comfortable The room cleaning staff Tonya especially was excellent and did a great job Almost all the staff were friendly and accommodating shout out to the gal at the lobby restaurant, forgot her name but had orange frizzy hair and of course the towel guy, older gent was super friendly All the restaurants were excellent and I recommend trying them all The only thing to take note was making reservations ahead of time… often the online reservations said they were all full but when we arrived at our allotted time every restaurant was half empty. Be prepared for them upselling beverages… The wine and champagne included weren’t very good The pools and the beach were outstanding and the entertainment staff were a lot of fun and kept everyone entertained day and night It would have been much more helpful if there were more used beach/towel drops spread out. There was only one central towel stand and a lot of people just left towels on there chairs especially on the beach without returning them Overall we loved it and would come back again
