Overall, we had a nice time. Staff were very friendly around the resort. The entertainment was great around the pool and beach. We really enjoyed the swim up bar and staff there.
Our room was not great. We had a toilet that was clogged when we first got there and they never really fixed it after asking for help. The room was a bit dirty overall. The fridge wasn’t cold for the first half of our stay. The shower water pressure and temperature was very inconsistent. It was interesting having no shower door and completely exposed to the entire room.
The food was underwhelming. We had some decent meals and some bad meals. However we did love the MEAT steakhouse food! The seafood market was not good and had hardly any options.
The check in and out process was unclear and there was hardly any communication with what to do with our luggage, how to get around the resort, the rules and policies of the resort, etc. We had to figure out ourselves how to book restaurant reservations, what the hours of the pool was, how to find different places within the resort, etc. We were never actually given any information on what they offered.
Our shuttle was booked thru the resort (Amstar third party.) The initial shuttle being picked up from the airport was random and very scary getting there. The driver was off-roading and swerving crazily thru traffic. It felt very unsafe. The shuttle leaving, to go back to the airport, was much better and more official/safer.
Inconsistent experience.
