Amazing new listing from Superhost with over 500 five star reviews (from competing platform)! Located above the Prineville Reservoir with 180° views of the lake and mountains. Only a 2 minute walk to the beach, and we provide kayaks, paddle boards, and beach gear for you! Beach is accessed by walking down our hill and across the road, or by walking/driving 600 ft on the road to the lake.
Family reunion, friend gathering, or small wedding/event; this is your spot! With an unobstructed 180° view of the lake, it's certain to be a time to remember!
Bringing a boat? No problem! Our 800 sq ft parking area can accommodate several cars, or a combination of cars, boats, and even RVs. There are 2 boat launches within a couple miles, or launch your boat from the beach below our house.
Our wrap-around deck and patio are loaded with comfy chairs, tables, a gas fire pit, and the hammock is an excellent napping spot! In the evening, enjoy our premium stargazing; this area received the rare International Dark Sky Park designation, bringing visitors from all over the world!
We've stocked the house with indoor and outdoor entertainment...kayaks, paddle boards, beach canopy and chairs, board and card games, jigsaw puzzles, etc., and even have wagons to haul your stuff the short walk to the beach!
The house is ready for you to easily feed your group: gas grill, Traeger smoker, toaster oven/air fryer, Kitchenaid mixer, Vitamix blender, rice cooker, Instant Pot, slow cooker, and all the pots, pans, and dishes you'd hope for, and large indoor and outdoor dining tables to gather around.
The house has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a separate bunk house with 2 bunk beds. The master bedroom upstairs has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. The two downstairs bedrooms have queen size beds and share a bathroom between them. All 3 bedrooms have TVs, as does the living room. We have a new bunk house in our side yard that has 2 twin-size bunk beds, and a 10x10 deck with a spectacular lake view. Guests sleeping in the bunk house have complete bathroom facilities available down a short, well-lit outdoor path (must walk outside to access bathroom). The bath house is in our basement and has 2 showers, one toilet, a sink, and this is also where the laundry room is located.
Bringing a small child? No problem! We have a deluxe Pack n Play for your use, including bassinet setup and diaper changing area. We also have toddler and youth-size PFDs, baby books and toys, safety gates, and even a couple sippy cups.
Other things to note:
1). Our chalet-style home is open concept, with the master bedroom being separated from the catwalk by blackout curtains, so has limited privacy. The catwalk is where you'll find a small home gym, and space to use our two comfy adult-size cots, and/or our deluxe Pack n Play.
2). To preserve our view, we've chosen not to cover any of our south-facing windows. In the morning, the catwalk is bathed in light at sunrise...but we provide complimentary sleep masks for cot-sleepers.
3) To aid in cleaning up after being at the beach, we have a shower, toilet, and sink in the basement, right by the driveway. This is the 3rd bathroom and requires exiting the house and heading downstairs. The laundry room is in the same area.
4). The property is fully fenced, partly with 6.5' deer fence, the rest with 4' rolled fencing.
5). We live in wildfire country, and sometimes have to tolerate smoky air. In our experience, it blows out pretty quickly. We recommend guests download the Watch Duty app to stay informed of any local fires, but we'll also let you know if there's anything to be concerned about.
5). Absolutely NO WOOD FIRES; it's life-threatening and illegal! Please enjoy the gas fireplace on the terrace. The pellet stove in the living room is non-operational and not part of this rental.
6). We live in a wild place, and count on the birds, spiders, and bats to keep the flying insect population in check. There are 2 bat houses on our property to encourage bats to focus their attention on our little slice of heaven. You'll likely find little bat droppings on the balcony and deck floor (looks like mouse poop, but it's not). We clean it up every day, but it's back in the morning, because the bats are hungry and what goes in must come out! Don't worry, you won't see any bats unless you're outside after dark.
7). The beach is at the bottom of our short hill, and the distance to the water changes throughout the year based on how full the lake is. The reservoir/lake is at its fullest in June and gets lower throughout the summer, but in recent years has been plenty full for all your recreation needs. The lake is a reservoir and water levels will vary from season to season and year to year and may be higher or lower than in the photos.
