Room was a great size, comfortable beds and pillows, roomy bathroom. It was quiet. Only problem, heat very high at night. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was mediocre, a distance to walk from the Inn location to the office facility where breakfast was held. Breakfast needs a rethinking about location and offerings . None the less, the experience everall was lovely and I would stay there again. .

The hotel was a disappointment. We expected a higher quality than the reality. Our room looked and felt uncared for. The washer in the sink was rusted &parts of the room were peeling and/or cracked. We were unable to sleep most of the night because the heating system was on a repeated schedule &makingweird,loud noises. Our bed was soft &comfortable &the only real positive of the room. Part of the appeal of the hotel is its history,so we weren’t expecting a contemporary hotel. But we did expect a hotel and a room that was cared for. We didn’t get it. The breakfast that was advertised as part of the stay was several blocks away in another building on a different street. On another note, we stopped in around1230 to see if we could park in the hotel parking lot while we walked around town.(Checkout is at11 so we thought we wouldn’t be taking anyone’s space.) We were told yes.then we asked if there was any chance of getting in before the 3 arrival time. The receptionist very enthusiastically said it wouldn’t be a problem &the room should be available soon. We returned around 2 expecting to get in, but were told it wasn’t ready yet. We sat down in the lobby to wait. At 245 I asked the receptionist what our rooms status was.She told me it would be another hour &half before it was ready. I said check-in time was3…&asked what was going on. She mumbled something & saidit wouldn’t be that long… and then she left her desk. We ending getting in@3,but felt let down.

The hotel did not honor Expedia prices and forced me to pay practically an extra night. The manager kept saying the difference was in taxes, which may vary, but that was not true. The difference in taxes represented a very small portion of the extra amount they charged me. The manager kept saying that’s what happens when you book rooms through 3rd party and that I should book directly next time. I had to accept it as they had already charged my card. I will formally report this to expedia and will share this negative review in other forums. Very disappointing… There were issues with the hotel as well, which would had been easily forgotten wasn’t for this terrible experience at check out: This is a historic hotel, but they also have rooms outside of the main building, nothing historic about them, and that’s where they put me first. Linoleum floors, noisy neighbors above us and a heater with a broken thermostat that forced me to wake up several times at night to turn it on and off. They accommodated my request to move to the main building, but make sure to ask for that when you book your reservation. Early in the morning almost every day there was someone blowing leaves by my window. Not a great way to wake up but I’m early riser, so no big deal.

The room was nice. The fireplace was a great centerpiece. However, the internet was down the whole stay at the hotel. and the staff seems annoyed to answer question or be helpful. They were quick to response and it seem to bother them that we asked.
