Learn to be hospitable to your guests

These guys wouldn’t know hospitality if it hit them in the face. Rude, condescending and made zero effort to be accommodating. Ive never tracked anywhere where staff couldn’t care less. I asked for an iron. They refused to provide but said they will be able to arrange an iron service next morning (must pay to get things ironed). Morning came around, they back tracked and said staff was busy and could not help. They would need until the next day to get it done. Also the one floating iron they had in the hotel (which could provide for a fee) was also untraceable. I have never experienced this level of lack of service. They literally act like they are doing you a favor by letting you stay there. Book your stay somewhere else.

We loved the view from our room from the patio — outdoor space was nice for breakfast. Room was tiny. More privacy between balconies is needed we could see the neighbours on both sides through the lattice.

The balcony was amazingly calm. The hotel & room were extremely clean. Shower was small, but worked for one. The bed in room 4 was soo comfortable! But someone who likes a firm pillow, I could've appreciated a thicker pillow. Staff was amazing. I'd happily rebook this hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel should have one star. Our four nights at this hotel were the absolutely worst part of our vacation. Every day, I had to go to the reception desk to request shampoo. We had no bar soap or body wash after the first day. Bed linens threadbare and dirty. They changed the sheets one time. I had no toilet paper in the bathroom and had to use a towel to wipe during the night. The shower did not drain so you have to stand in dirty water. Someone from the hotel banged on our door at 8 am for no reason. We were still in bed and my husband had to yell go away. Don’t stay here. There are better hotels and I hope hotels.com ceases business with them.

The view is what you pay for otherwise, it’s not very private, rooms are on top of each other so you have no privacy for conversations. Staff is friendly. Location is good but expect a lot of walking in Positano anywhere. Rooms are somewhat small in size but may have larger rooms available

Our stay at Palazzo Talamo was exceptional. We had amazing communication with the staff before and during our stay. They provided us with instructions on the easiest way to get to the hotel (which avoids hundreds of stairs!) greatly appreciated! On our first night we asked for some recommendations for restuarants and got an extensive message with many options. We were able to try several of them and they were all excellent. The hotel is beautiful and charming, the room was adorable and better than pictured. We got a sea view and would highly recommend. We got breakfast in our room, eating on the deck with the most glorious view you have ever seen. It was a pinterest worthy backdrop. The breakfast options were vast and delicious. My mom and I are still talking about the homemade cake. I couldn't recommend this place enough and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Loved staying here. The room with the sea view was amazing! The location was idyllic, there were stair cases right by the entrance that led you straight down to the beach and right in front of some great restaurants.

Unbelievable views! 317 steps to walk up so not for elders. But the views are INCREDIBLE! Very nice staff. Excellent breakfast delivered to room. Beds were not great and sheets/duvets pretty scratchy and uncomfortable.

This hotel was absolutely magical. The location is great; right next to several very good restaurants and up the street from the best gelato! The breakfast served to you every morning was just lovely and it was pure luxury being able to wake up to breakfast in bed or on the balcony overlooking the sea. We could even shower while looking at the sea because there was a window that could be opened in the bathroom. Everything was immactulatey clean and comfortable. The yellow colors and gold sconces and decor were everything I would imagine for a hotel in Italy. I just can't say enough about this hotel. It was probably one of my favorite hotels I have stayed at and I have stayed in many luxury hotels all over the world. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I will definately return.
