Comfortable stay

My stay was overall good. The room was spacious, but would probably need some very minor maintenance, such as resealing the skirting boards and sink, along with a few other small repairs. There was always someone at the reception, which was ideal in our case, as our flight was delayed and we arrived late at night. The breakfast was satisfactory, though a wider selection would have been appreciated. I particularly enjoyed being able to make my own fresh orange juice.

This choice of hotel was convenient. I was able to walk to many locations. Shopping mall places to eat. I found an amazing Chinese restaurant I had peaking duck twice. I brought my family back here. The price was great. The food wasn’t greasy. The people are friendly and helpful. Most of them speak English the staff at the hotel was very helpful. They even provided me a map of the city.

The main reason for booking was that we had a very late arriving flight and this hotel was minutes walk from the metro and had a 24 hour reception. Receptionist was very welcoming even at 1am. Quiet hotel and room comfortable and clean. Big fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. Room is basic. We would of appreciated proper coffee cups in the room and a soap dish. There was only small lamps in the room so it felt very dark when the curtains were shut. The tap water was never cold so a fridge would have been nice to chill water. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

The Stay Hotel in Porto was nice, but we would have preferred being closer to the river where lots of action was. It was a straight walk into downtown however.

Overall I liked the Stay hotel, it was modern, clean and the staff were friendly. It was an excellent location for arriving from the airport to Trindade metro, albeit uphill. What I didn’t like was the bedroom lighting, so dim despite the number of bulbs. They also need to deal with the drain smell after heavy rain from the shower area. It’s not the only hotel in Europe I have experienced this, so fine during the dry summers.

The property was very conveniently located to shopping areas and public transport. I didn’t have a car at this time, but I didn’t notice multiple street parking spaces frequently open up as well as a large parking structure next door. The room was clean. I did notice that there were a few things broken such as the curtains, the toilet paper holder and paint chipping off the wall. Also, wish there was better lighting in the restroom. Otherwise it was a great day. There’s luggage storage and an elevator as well (though there’s a few steps up to get to the elevator).
