We loved our river-view room. The bed was comfy and the room was cozy. We only stayed for one night and had an early morning all-day Douro Valley tour so the woman at the desk offered to make us box lunches to take with us since we would miss breakfast that day. She also kindly allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel while we were on our tour.

The hotel was clean and welcoming. We would have appreciated more wardrobe space and tea/coffee making facilities in the room but it was adequate for the duration of our stay. We felt the hotel was understaffed but the staff on duty were friendly and always willing to assist. The river view was superb from our room, and we would certainly consider staying at this hotel again.

One couples stay

Room small but very clean and had everything needed. Shower and sink in the bedroom so not ideal for friends sharing. Staff pleasant. A little difficult to find entrance. Metal archway at side of McDonald’s. Folllwing satnav on Google maps didn’t take us to the right place. Good continental breakfast included.

A hidden gem on the Douro River. The staff were welcoming, kind and attentive. Thank you Maria for your incredible hospitality. The hotel is quaint and beautifully appointed and the breakfast was wonderful. We would love to return to this very special place and of course we highly recommend it to travellers who are looming for something special.

Adorable historic boutique hotel! Recently renovated with a fantastic location on the Duro river and a nice breakfast. Be aware… the property is NOT staffed after 10 pm. So check in earlier than that. We checked in late in the day and needed to wait outside for the staff member to come to the property. We were a little thrown off by that. Think of it like a cross between a boutique hotel and an AirBnB! Once she got there we settled in and had a great experience. Staff during working hours is very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

What a lovely small hotel. Bruna was incredible, best service one could imagine. Room 4 looked out over the river with a sweet balcony and an so comfortable bed. Great breakfast and wonderful location as you can walk to most places. Cannot recommend it enough.

This property is right on the river in an excellent location near lots of great restaurants, shops and excursions. The room was just as described, the bed was comfortable and the view was wonderful. The staff were great and the breakfast was very good. We had a few glitches at no fault of the property and they took responsibility and made our stay pleasant as possible. The parking is difficult in this area so if you can arrive without a car, that is best. We highly recommend it.

Do not book this one. The staff was amateur and did not even know the price of the hotel. I was almost overcharged. The aircon is down and the hotel used temporary one which was inconvenient. The service was slow to response. The customers waited so long to have the answer for simple questions.
