Hi there! I have recently been staying at your property about once a month or two and it is my preferred stay when I am in Portland. However, last night i got in late (after midnight) and was assigned room #212. It smelled like someone had recently smoked in the room. I realize that you likely don’t allow smoking in the rooms, and that you also have little control over if someone does or how to get rid of the odor once ot is in the room. But the smell permeated everything and also the room smelled a bit sour (Granted this could have been a deodorizer that unsuccessfully covered the smell of old cigarette. I opened the window and cranked the fan in the AC unit to run all night but this morning i came out of the bathroom and it was still pretty pungent. I ended up checking out earlier than usual (i usually buy a cup of coffee downstairs and drink it in the room, but didn't want to come back in to that odor.) i would have gone down last night and asked for a different room, but it was very late, so I did not (that part is on me!)
I will still stay there in November when I come, but wanted you to know this was not the greatest experience, this time. And I do realize it wasn’t your fault.
Not sure if this is helpful, but just in case there is anything you can do for room 212 before the next person comes along, I am sharing.
