Gite Le Chai de Carles

Come and recharge your batteries in this unique place, located in a pretty village at the entrance to the Corbières and 15 minutes from the beaches of Port la Nouvelle. Located on the first floor of an old wine cellar.

The building dates from before 1900. We bought it at the end of 2013 and have completely renovated it since 2015. A former wine-making site, the accommodations are an outbuilding of the cellar in which the winemaker lived with his family.

The accommodation
The accommodations are ideally located between vineyards, river, scrubland, beaches, ponds (kitesurfing and windsurfing spots, oyster farming) and the hinterland (hikes in the scrubland - marked trails-, Cathar castles, typical villages...). You can reconnect with the elements and nature.

ALL rooms in the accommodation are air-conditioned.

For a stress-free stay, the accommodations are offered with the services of household linen (sheets, towel, dish towels, shower mat).
In order to facilitate your arrival, we provide everything you need to start your stay: toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, washing-up liquid, hand soap, pods for the dishwasher and washing machine, coffee pods, ground and filter coffee, tea, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, etc.)

For travellers with baby: we provide you with everything you need (high chair, adapted cutlery, travel cot, bathtub, etc.).

The kitchen is perfectly equipped with two coffee makers (senseo and filter coffee maker), kettle, toaster, raclette machine, and absolutely everything you need to cook. Fridge / freezer, dishwasher, very large capacity piano stove, high extractor, in short, a kitchen like at home!

A large laundry room is also equipped with a 9kg washing machine, a drying rack, vacuum cleaner, etc.

The living room is equipped with a TV offering Netflix, a comfortable sofa, ottoman, and a large fireplace with insert.

The bedrooms are all equipped with a queen size bed (160X200) with built-in wardrobe. One bedroom is equipped with a TV.
One of the bedrooms is through. It allows you to go to the 3rd bedroom. However, it has doors that can each be locked.

Traveler access
A courtyard of about 30 m2 is at your disposal outside, at the foot of the stairs leading to the accommodation. A locked gate will give you the possibility to store bicycles, trailers, motorcycles, sports equipment, etc.

There is a barbecue, table, chairs and a water point.

Other remarks
The accommodations are on the first floor, there are 24 steps to climb to get there!
Once at the top, the accommodations are on one level.
