It was a privilege to stay in this beautiful, historic old mansion. I have known of the Starrett House since the 1980’s, but getting to spend three nights there was a treat. The breakfasts each morning were great, and the hostesses are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.
A rundown, eccentric property. The amenities were practically nonexistent. Great if you enjoy an off the beaten trail experience.
Overpriced for what you get
This is the second time I’ve stayed here - I love it so much. I’ve stayed in two rooms and they both were wonderful - I couldn’t ask for nicer rooms. The history of this place is fascinating and it supports an amazing non-profit. Spending time with Emileigh is a joy.
Nice and quiet. Staff available and extremely helpful

I enjoyed all of it. It was a beautiful house outside needs a little work, but I don’t know how much they can do that with it being historical. I was bummed I didn’t see any ghost, but I kept hearing things at night. The breakfast was delicious. The person that served. It was very kind and she did a really good job. The room was big and spacious. The shower was nice. I really have no bad things to say about the place. I had a good birthday there.

This facility needs management. There were no staff on site except for a breakfast person. The stairs leading to the rooms are very steep and totally unacceptable for seniors or out of shape people. We would never stay there again.
This historic mansion was absolutely breathtaking. The host was wonderful, breakfast was delicious, and the property was conveniently located near the waterfront and uptown areas.
Staff are very helpful. The room is exceptionally quiet despite thin walls and the bed is just the right firmness to sleep. It is just a few block walk to the main area of town with many good restaurants nearby. Lots of character in this old building!
Emileigh is an excellent host and her food is great! The bed was very clean and comfortable. Location was awesome for walking downtown or to the closer Uptown shops and farmer's market.
Old and charismatic house. Lovely place to stay for a more intimate stay in Port Townsend. Absolutely loved the breakfasts each morning, cooked by staff. Not your typical continental breakfast - much better!

Overall it was a nice place to stay with helpful staff. Though the worker was new, she didn’t have anyone training her in, and still did a nice job. The exterior of the property is pretty old and in need of updating, but the house is super charming in that Victorian style. Our bed was comfy—bathroom was extremely small. I had to look under a chair for a dropped item and I could see it needs to be cleaned, and then I noticed more spots that need deep cleaning. The breakfasts were really good! They served the food and then didn’t come back to see that the food stayed stocked or warm, and the toaster didn’t work but everything we ate was tasty and set us up for the day well. I would recommend this property to travelers who are ok putting up with a few quirks!
First off, Emily who runs the place is amazing. Secondly the location is an easy walk to parades, art shows, and the farmer's market. Great location. The rooms are somewhat rustic, many with no phones or TV. That didn't bother us at all. Had a great stay.
We had an amazing time at Starrett House. One point - if you have a problem with stairs you will want to find another place. The house is a beautiful old house, the rooms are well designed and comfortable. Emileigh, who runs it, is happy to share the romantic history of the house and she’s beyond accommodating. Easy walk down a hill into the Water Street area, a few blocks from the farmers market - I loved everything about our stay!
