Based purely on the fact a duplicate booking went through and the reception staff made no mention… now the hotel are hiding behind their cancellation policy and not refunding two room that were never used though we stayed in two other rooms !!! Be warned about this hotel’s ethics

Stay was adequate, food in restaurant hit and miss one good meal one average. Issue and warning about the hotel is somehow two rooms was booked twice (not sure how) and the hotel did not mention this at check in and now want waiver the cancellation as it’s past stay… will not be booking or staying again, be warned

Hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas which was lovely. Nice big bedroom. Had an unexpected complimentary buffet laid on Christmas Day evening for hotel residents which was very kind.

Well if you want a party hotel this is the one! Loud isn’t the word. Couldn’t even hear the receptionist when I was checking in. Room was spacious and clean. Don’t go out and try and get back in late at night tho! The COMPLETELY LOCK the front door. There is a door bell but it doesn’t work! The staff are not paying attention and with bad phone signal there it’s a mission and a half. I was out in the cold knocking on windows trying to get in for 20 mins before another guest tried getting out and finally flagged a staff member down. Shocking and completely unsafe especially totally locking a fire exit!

When we arrived there was a rugby match being shown in the lounge area on the televisions. There was a very noisy crowd which made it difficult to hear the reception staff. The bedroom was on the second floor above the noisy lounge and when the rugby finished a very loud live band started playing which we could hear in our room. The bedroom was very large and well decorated, the ensuite was clean and the towels were big and fluffy. The king-size bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful but when the scrambled egg bowl was empty I asked twice when it would be refilled,there was only white or brown sliced bread no croissants or other bread. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. It was very busy in the bar and restaurant but the staff were all amazing. The carvery was excellent, well organised and delicious.......especially the beef. Desserts were lovely and tge cheese board at half time during the rugby was just what we needed. After the rugby was a live band and they were great too. All in all, a fab stay and well do it again.
