Dew Drop 2 Village Cottage, Steps to Harbor, Lawn & Boathouse

Located directly in the heart of Port Clyde, Dew Drop 2 Village Cottage is a charming coastal home just steps from the harbor, shops, dining, and village life. This is a true in-town stay, where the sidewalk loop, waterfront, playground, post office, church, and local favorites are right outside your door.

The property is a classic Maine cape that has been thoughtfully adapted into two separate residences. Dew Drop 2 is a private, self-contained unit with its own entrance, primarily set within a newer addition to the home, while portions of the kitchen and half bath remain within the original cape.

This cottage is best suited for one family or a couple looking for a relaxed and comfortable stay in the heart of the village.

Entering the cottage, you are welcomed into a bright great room with views of the harbor. French doors and windows across the front of the home bring in natural light and create an easy connection to the outdoors.

The living area includes a comfortable sectional sofa, cushioned seating, and a writing desk, making it a perfect place to read, write, or simply relax. A smart flat screen television with cable and streaming capability, along with books and games, adds to the comfort of the space.

The dining area includes seating for six, with views of the gardens and nearby playground.

The kitchen is efficiently designed and well equipped with a refrigerator, stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, standard coffee maker, toaster, and blender. A stackable washer and dryer and a half bath are also located in this area.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The first bedroom is the smaller of the two and includes a queen-sized bed, dresser, closet, bedside lamps, and a smart TV with cable. This room has windows facing the street and playground.

The full bathroom is located in the hallway and includes a tub and shower combination.

The second bedroom features a king bed, chaise lounge, nightstands with lamps, dresser, and a vaulted ceiling with clear ocean views overlooking the working waterfront.

A plug-in air conditioning unit is available on the second floor to provide added comfort during warmer summer days.

Outside, the property offers a large shared lawn that extends to the water’s edge. This unit has its own dedicated outdoor setup, including four Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and an outdoor grill.

A small shared garage space is available for storing beach chairs, bicycles, or other personal items during your stay.

The lawn is ideal for relaxing, playing games, painting, reading, or simply watching the harbor activity. The setting offers views of the working waterfront, boats coming and going, changing coastal tides, and beautiful sunsets. It is not uncommon to see guests set up easels or spend time writing and creating.

This is a tidal waterfront property, and at low tide the water recedes to reveal the natural mud flats typical of the Maine shoreline. At high tide, the water returns and the harbor view changes again.

This property includes access to a shared boathouse on the water, offering an additional place to enjoy the waterfront setting.

Just down Co-op Road, you can purchase fresh lobster directly from local fishermen and bring it back to prepare at home.

As this is a shared property, guests may occasionally share the lawn and waterfront areas with guests staying in the adjacent unit. The home is located along Co-op Road, where you may hear early morning activity from local fishermen, along with the natural sounds of the nearby playground and village life.

This cottage is designed to be enjoyed year round. In the warmer months, the waterfront lawn, harbor activity, and village setting invite you outside. In fall, the landscape shifts with changing leaves and coastal light. In the colder months, the cottage becomes a quiet and cozy retreat, ideal for reading, writing, puzzles, games, or simply slowing down. Many guests enjoy spending holidays here.

Around the Fourth of July, you may see fireworks from the surrounding harbor area. These are typically set off by local residents and can appear in different directions across the water.

Area Amenities: Dew Drop 2 is steps from the center of Port Clyde. Enjoy coffee, a drink, or light fare at The Squid Ink, breakfast or lunch at the historic Ocean House Dining Room, live music and casual dining at The Barn Café, fresh seafood at The Black Harpoon, and dessert from Village Ice Cream. The Dip Net offers casual waterfront dining.

The Port Clyde General Store dock and marina offers gas, diesel, mooring services, and possible slip space. The nearby public town landing provides parking, dock access, and a consistent place to launch kayaks or small boats.

Sea kayaks can be rented locally, and bicycles can be rented from Maine Sport. Guests may also rent small boats, including Boston Whalers, through Port Harbor Marine.

Drift Inn Beach is about a mile away and offers a beautiful tidal beach experience. Nearby Marshall Point Lighthouse is one of the most iconic coastal landmarks in Maine.

For families traveling with children, the area is close to Blueberry Cove Camp, Herring Gut Coastal Science Center, and the St. George Sailing Club. Advance registration is strongly recommended, as these programs often fill quickly.

If additional space is needed, guests may rent the adjoining Dew Drop 4 Village Cottage or consider the nearby Ocean House Hotel.

Provided for your convenience are linens, bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, four beach towels, and four beach chairs. You will also find your first tank of propane for the grill and fire pit, dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, cable television, and wireless internet. Quite simply it is pure heaven to stay there. My second time and hope many more to come. It is just right. The only thing that would increase the sublime experience would be a fire place. Short of that it is perfect.

Incredible stay at Dew Drop Cottage II

The location was spectacular with a very short walk to the Monhegan Boat Line Store, Squid Ink Coffee Shop, and Village Ice Cream. We walked to Marshall Point lighthouse about a mile away and hit the tide just right for a couple beach days at Drift Inn beach. We had an incredible ocean view facing West for beautiful sunsets. Our two bedrooms and spacious living / dining area was plenty of room for my wife and 2.5 year old to relax and enjoy ourselves. Highly recommend if you want to place to get away.

Nice View and Peaceful

My husband, adult nephew and I very much enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was very clean, well supplied, and quality furniture. The beds were comfortable. No problems with the WiFi connection. We were able to watch the sunsets and the boats coming and going with their lobster traps. The locals are nice people. When we come back to the area, we will not hesitate to stay here again.

Perfection. Port Clyde is starkly beautiful this time of year and provides the best kind of solitude to focus and write what is what I needed. Easily able to settle in and gaze at the water while reading and writing. I plan to return next year at this time. Thank you. Jane

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Dew Drop II in Port Clyde, ME. Place was adorable and very clean. We drove up/down the coast from our location. Was such a shame the Dip Net and general store burned down as they were so conveniently located. I’m sure they will build back better! Would definitely come back!

Port Clyde Vacation

This is a great place and Veronica was an excellent host. The reviews online are accurate—this is a lovely house with very nice furnishings, comfortable, nice but small kitchen. Only drawback for us was that it’s a duplex, so you don’t have privacy when use the outdoor space. If that doesn’t matter to you, then this place is perfect. Our “neighbors” were very nice but you are taking a chance booking a duplex. The view of the harbor and sunsets is spectacular.
