I was charged a $20.00 pet “cleaning fee” for my support dog who weighs 4lbs. Nothing about a cleaning fee is disclosed on their website nor on Expedia. It says support animals are exempt from all service fees.. I was unhappy with this and let them know. I consider the fee as another way to get a fee for pets.

My check-in process went very smooth.Sam was very polite & courteous & gave me all the pertinent in a welcoming attitude. The positives about the room are: it's very clean & spacious. It's relatively quiet & i love the retro mini fridge & microwave. The a/c works great & the bed is comfortable. The negative: I was expecting colorful walls, but my room was all white. One of the bedside lamps wouldn't come on, sadly, it was on the side i'm used to sleeping on. Lol. The tub looks beautiful, but it's very slippery. Use caution. Plan ahead: The tub doesn't have a plug, so if you like baths, you have to improvise. Also, there are no clothes hangers, so pack accordingly. There's no coffee pot in the room. Overall, I would stay at the Crystal Palace again.

Very responsive staff. Nice remodel though a few things need work. Should have social area of pool open for the chairs etc, even if the pool itself is closed. People were requesting such during our visit. One bedside lamp was not plugged in and there was not an outlet nearby to do so. Would stay here again and did recommend it to some people on our cruise who need a pre-night near the Galveston port. Rate was right, matched the property.

The place was in shambles, unclean, terrible location. This hotel was misrepresented on Expedia, and shouldn't be on any booking website! I do expect a refund, for not being truthful on your website.

It took us forever to get to the hotel. The Google address won't take you anywhere. The receptionist ( girl) had to share the location. She is a nice lady. The rooms are not good at all for the price—no outlets to charge phone/watch etc. There are two chairs; the leather or outer coverings are completely torn and need to be recycled for sure. Found two live roaches ( big ones), my daughter was so scared to sleep. The linens were not changed when we came back to the rooms. All the towels are still on the floor, no extra towels or anything. Horrible for the price. We paid close to $300 for a queen-bed bedroom. Don't worth at all!
