Comfortable villa in a slightly tired looking development

This is a comfortable villa with a nice sized pool and plenty of accommodation. It is located quite a long way from the centre of Polis which is perhaps a 10 minute drive away. The villa is part of a larger development which is beginning to look quite tired and is situated on its own surrounded by fields and scrub land. It is quite well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine and reasonable amounts of crockery and cooking utensils. The pool was a good size for swimming, but the floor was quite dirty in several places. There were also quite unsightly looking cracks in the stonework around the pool. The villa sleeps six in three separate bedrooms, but the beds were awfully hard. The wifi router was also extremely old and completely inadequate if several people were trying to access it at the same time. However, all in all it worked as an excellent base for exploring this part of Cyprus and we had a wonderful holiday.

Schöner Außenbereich

Der Außenbereich mit Pool ist hervorragend! Die Küche war gut ausgestattet und der Grill im Garten ermöglicht gemütliche Grillabende am Pool. Die Betten waren uns persönlich zu hart. Die Umgebung ist ruhig. Polis ist schnell mit dem Auto zu erreichen.

Erholsamer Aufenthalt abseits anderer Unterkünfte

Wir haben das Objekt im September für 12 Tage gemietet. Das haus hatten wir zu viert genutzt. Die Lage ist wie beschrieben etwas abseits von Polis. Bis zur nächsten Bar/Restaurants sind es ca. 20-30 min Fussweg, bis zum Zentrum von Polis etwa 5 Minuten mehr. Der Strand am Campingplatz lässt sich ebenfalls in ca 40 min zu Fuss erreichen. Wir hatten ein Auto zur Verfügung - was wohl leichte Vorteile bietet. Der Anschluss an verschiedene Buslinien ist mehr oder minder auf Polis-Zentrum als Startpunkt ausgelegt - aber dann stehen einige Linien zur Auswahl - so dass hier durchaus eine Alternative zum Mietauto zur Verfügung steht. Das Haus und Zimmer sind geräumig und gut aufgeteilt. Die Dachterrasse haben wir auf Grund der Hitze nicht genutzt wir hatten durchgehend 28-34°C im Schatten, so dass wir viel Freude am Pool hatten. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist gut und bietet alle Möglichkeiten (Frühstück oder Kochen inklusive Nutzung des Ofens waren verfügbar) - leider hat der separate Wasserkocher nicht funktioniert und der Toaster hatte einen Wackelkontakt- aber dies ließ sich durch die anderen Gerätschaften überbrücken. Das Haus steht in einer kleineren Apartmentsiedlung von ca.20 Häusern. Die Anlage ist so aufgeteilt, dass man die Nachbargrundstücke nicht einsehen kann - und andersrum. Was leider nicht für die Laubbläser der Gartenarbeiter gilt. In der ersten Woche waren am Dienstag bis Samstag am Morgen immer pünktlich ab 08:00 Uhr lautstarkes Laubpusten angesagt, bei erreichen der Mittagshitze wurde dann dies unterbrochen. Kann sein dass wir einfach eine falsche Zeit erwischt hatten, wo Blüten und Laub sich langsam von den Büschen trennen. Über den Strand streiten sich bestimmt die Geister - wir waren begeistert aber man muss dies wohl mögen. Der Strand ist ein Gemisch aus Sand / Kiesel und Steinregionen. Zum Baden gut geeignet, aber bei Wellengang schon etwas schwieriger - wohl nichts für Kinder oder ängstlicheren Personen. Ein wenig Schatten bietet der Strand, einen sehr schönen Sonnenuntergang und meistens ist man (zumindest im September) alleine am Strand (die nächsten Personen am Strand sind >100m entfernt). Der Kontakt zur Vermietungs-Agentur hat gut funktioniert. Bei einem Stromausfall wurde uns umgehend geholfen. Die Zimmer werden einmal in der Woche gereinigt. Hilfsbereite und freundliche Servicemitarbeiter.
