As a regular traveller, I felt that the main course dinner portion was small, the fish was similar to a large fish finger, The lighting outside was poor with only one light to light the pathway outside the hotel and none for the car park which was very dark with no light from anywhere

The property is a really beautiful old building full of stunning character, my room was gorgeous, bed was the best hotel bed I’ve slept in, really clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and welcoming at all times. I asked for a room with a view and was given an upgrade as they weren’t busy which was so kind of them. I had a lovely stay despite the constant rain and will definitely return, my only issues were the both dinner and breakfast took a long time to come out, breakfast was an hour but it was delicious food.

The only thing that spoiled our stay was the evening meal. We booked our stay at this hotel having seen the menu on their website and we decided it looked lovely. The same menu was also in the welcome pack in our rooms so we booked our evening meal with anticipation! However, we were presented with a menu identical to the lunchtime menu which was very ordinary. When we queried it, no real explanation was given, just that this was the menu they were using. However, the staff were all delightful and we will stay there again but we will not eat there without first checking on the menu!

Could not have been happier.

A STUNNING room in a BEAUTIFUL Manor House. A million miles beyond my usual “Purple Palace” but AMAZING value. We recently stayed in The Old Course Hotel (St. Andrews) and this was on a par with that, but a quarter of the price. I can’t rate Welbeck Manor highly enough and will be back as quickly as possible. Oh, and it has its own 9hole Golf Course too!!

Some staff were lovely. Some had to be hunted for such as to serve us breakfast on the Saturday. The shower was dangerous, wirhout moving control from medium it went from scading hot to freezing. The room was shabby outside lighting hit and miss. The beds were comfy and there were good quality coffe bags and biscuits.
