Devon House Hot Tub Sea Views & Family Fun
Summary:
Gather the family at this Devon home near Wembury Beach, and bring your four-legged friend to enjoy the secure garden too. Soak in the sea-view hot tub at sunset, keep everyone entertained in the games/sun room with table tennis and toys, and cosy up by the log burner after coastal walks. With 4 bedrooms sleeping 8, a modern open-plan kitchen/diner, plus WiFi and parking, it’s ideal for relaxed get-togethers.
The Space:
You’ll arrive to a bright, family-friendly layout that makes spending time together feel effortless. You can cook and chat in the modern open-plan kitchen and dining area, then open the doors straight out to the garden. The first section of the garden is fully dog-secure, so you can let your four-legged friends and little ones run about freely while you keep an easy eye on things from the terrace. When the day winds down, you can pile into the lounge, light the log burner, and settle in for board games or a film.
Outside is where you’ll make the most of those Devon evenings. You can sink into the hot tub with views towards Wembury Point as the sun sets, then stay a little longer for proper stargazing (it’s wonderfully dark here). There’s also a children’s play area and plenty of space for summer BBQs and easy alfresco meals.
When it’s time to turn in, you’ve got four comfortable bedrooms so everyone can spread out. You can claim the master suite with a super-king bed, ensuite, dressing room and balcony. Two further bedrooms have their own ensuites (one double and one twin), and there’s a fourth twin bedroom that’s ideal for children. A separate family bathroom with a bath is perfect for bedtime routines after sandy beach days.
Guest Access:
Access via a private driveway, there is parking for up to 4 vehicles on the drive. The property is next to farmland with views out to the sea.
The Neighborhood:
A scenic 20-minute walk across the countryside brings you to The Mussel Inn, a traditional, cosy pub serving food and featuring an outdoor play area for children. The Eddystone Inn is also within walking distance, offering food and lovely sea views. The walk is downhill on the way there, with a steeper climb back.
Wembury Beach has a gently sloping shoreline with rocky outcrops to explore, making it ideal for a relaxed family day out. Enjoy rock pooling, paddling and beach play, with beautiful views across the sea to the Mewstone. Follow the coastal paths, visit Wembury Marine Centre to learn about local wildlife, or explore the history of Wembury Point, once a key Ministry of Defence site during the Second World War.
A true walker’s haven, the area offers easy access to circular routes incorporating the South West Coast Path.
Plymouth is just a 15-minute drive away, where you’ll find river cruises, the Barbican, and the National Marine Aquarium. For even more outdoor adventures, Dartmoor National Park is around 40 minutes away, perfect for walking, cycling, or a visit to the zoo.
Getting Around:
Once you here there is lots to explore by foot, but you need a car to get to shops and explore the wider local area.
Other Things to Note:
Please be aware that the property is located next to private farmland where horses graze. For your safety and the animals' well-being, please do not enter the fields, as they are protected by electrified fencing. During the shooting season (late October to late January), shooting events may occur every other weekend, potentially audible from the house, typically in the mornings and concluding by lunchtime. Check-in is at 16:00 and check-out is at 10:00. Pets are allowed, but charges may apply.
Hot tub: Please follow the hot tub instructions provided to help keep it working properly. If the hot tub becomes unavailable due to misuse, not following the guidance, or user error, we’re unable to offer compensation.
Interaction with Guests:
We operate a self check in process to enable you to arrive and check in without restrictions. Our Housekeeper Danielle is on hand should you need anything during your stay.
