This is a hotel built in the 1850’s so different yardstick for amenities. A lot of great history. And the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. Plenty of hot water and pressure as well. Staff were super nice and very helpful. Really enjoyed it.

The Cary Hotel is my favorite place in Placerville. It's beautiful, comfortable, and convenient. The staff just couldn't be nicer. My favorite part is the little bits of historical knowledge all over the place.

I stay here a lot, it is a funky OLD Hotel, you can see, feel (and smell) the history - Staff is always great, the Kitchen is not stocked with anything other than having a stove top - no pots, pans, silverware..... just an FYI - I am thankful for the Cary House - will go back!

Great better then I was expecting little difficulty with luggage and small slope to the evaluator that's not noticeable at first with the lobby lighting half baths parking is behind hotel and with a fee we'll lighted but not real secured great experience everything with in 200 feet all reasonable

Quaint and beautiful historic hotel! Right in downtown Placerville. We loved strolling from the hotel to all the cute shops and antique stores along the row. Hotel itself was clean, well managed with friendly staff. Shower was hot with great pressure! We loved the antique look of the rooms. Bonus: if you like ghosts and spooky stories, this hotel is great! We loved watching the Portals to Hell episode about the hotel… in the hotel! Overall, fantastic experience. We would stay here again if we found ourselves in the area.

This is a 170 year old hotel with an elevator from the 1920's and it does show its age but it's conveniently located right on the main street going through the tourist destination of Placerville. Acceptable cleanliness and staff was very friendly and helpful. The decor and carpeting and fixtures showed a significant amount of wear. If you're looking for the fun and the ambiance of the town it's good - if you're looking for a hotel comparable to Marriott or Hyatt it's not in that category.
