A beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and excellent at customer service. The palace itself is very impressive and well appointed. However, the rooms themselves are a little dated, the beds are less comfortable, and the pillows are flat. However, I highly recommend for people visiting Pitlochry.

The property is located a 15-minute walk from the Pitlochry Station and is located on top of a hill. I would suggest taking a taxi if you have luggage. The property itself is beautiful and clean. Our room was quiet even though it was located near to the pub. We enjoyed walking the grounds as well. Lots of nice walking trails. The location is walkable to town and to the Blair Distillery which made things easy.

Room was clean but flies in bathroom in am that needed to be killed before cleaning. Food was at best satisfactory in veranda lounge. Good swimming pool and hot tub. Grounds are lovely. Check-in and out efficient and staff affable.

It’s unfortunate that the stay was such a disappointment. The restaurant staff was horribly rude & inconsiderate. The breakfast staff would interrupt conversations we were having within our group in order to “set the record straight” on what we were saying. I informed them the conversation wasn’t including them. The bread at dinner was moldy. Drink orders were incorrect & when we told the staff, they told us we were wrong & we’re confrontational. There was mold in the shower. The restaurant staff seemed to be short tempered with our entire party of 12. We will never return to this hotel again & spread the word on their rudeness.

Amazing property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and regretted that it was only 1 night. The staff were excellent and very efficient. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. We had a great time in the pool area and hot tub. Overall - highly recommended.

Not quite what we expected

Upon initial arrival the atholl palace hotel looks grand from the outside. Reviews were good and the photos of what we booked online looked amazing so we had high expectations. Customer service was good. However, as we entered our room it was run down cobwebs in the corner and needed a big update. We were confused as we thought it had already been renovated-however upon speaking to management only the 3rd floor had been renovated. It was not just the rooms that needed an upgrade and a clean the corridors could use another coat of paint and new carpets. The spa was nice until some of the facilities were marked as out of service. We were also told when we arrived at reception that the spa was open until 9pm, arriving at the spa just before 6pm the receptionist said last entry was 6 as they were closing at 7pm. We later found out this information was correct there had just been a miscommunication between spa and main reception when we checked in. The changing rooms could use a slight clean mainly in the lockers and cleaning out the hairdryers. Overall not what we expected at all from the photos that were advertised. Food in the morning was good with a wide buffet selection and nice continental selection. Staff were helpful when needed and the bar had a nice atmosphere with a good live singer at night starting from around 8.30-9pm.
