There is a quiet confidence to Sage Moon's design. Remodeled by Wolfgang Pichler Design, the home's dark, earthy exterior gives way to pale woods, soft neutral furnishings, sculptural lighting, and expansive windows that bring the surrounding landscape into focus. The living spaces feel airy yet intimate, with sliding glass doors creating an easy connection between the house and its outdoor gathering areas. Whether you're sharing the home with another couple or escaping for a few days together, Sage Moon makes slowing down feel effortless.

Life at Sage Moon naturally moves outdoors. Start with breakfast on the covered patio, where the desert stretches toward distant mountain ridgelines and Joshua trees dot the landscape. Spend the warmer hours stretched out on a lounger, reading in the hammock, or challenging your travel companions to a game of bocce.



The cowboy tub offers a refreshing way to cool off beneath the desert sun, while the outdoor shower adds another opportunity to enjoy the open air. As the afternoon light softens, fire up the propane BBQ and enjoy dinner outside before settling into Adirondack chairs around the fire pit.



The hot tub is an especially inviting place to end the day, with open views of the surrounding desert and expansive skies overhead.



The cowboy tub is a seasonal soaking and cooling tub, not an in-ground swimming pool. It is drained and unavailable November through March. Although the setting is private and secluded, the property is not fully fenced.

Natural light and desert views shape the living room, where a generous, linen-toned sectional invites you to settle in. A large picture window frames Joshua trees and the surrounding terrain, while expansive sliding glass doors open directly onto the patio, making the outdoors feel like part of the room.



Light wood furnishings, understated artwork, and warm textures create a relaxed Scandinavian atmosphere without distracting from the landscape. It's an inviting space for reading, conversation, or simply enjoying an afternoon with nowhere else to be.

The kitchen combines clean Scandinavian lines with thoughtful functionality. Pale wood cabinetry, open shelving, a curved breakfast counter, and warm lighting create a welcoming space for cooking and gathering.



The fully stocked kitchen makes meals at home easy, whether you're preparing breakfast before exploring Pioneertown or putting together dinner after an afternoon outdoors. Pull up a stool at the counter for morning coffee, or take advantage of the propane BBQ and outdoor dining patio to enjoy meals with the desert as your backdrop.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Sage Moon accommodates up to four guests across two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, making it well suited to couples or a small group of friends.



The bedrooms continue the home's calm, minimalist aesthetic with soft neutral tones, natural materials, and comfortable furnishings. One bedroom features a woven cane headboard, warm wood accents, and sliding glass doors that lead to an intimate outdoor sitting area, creating a peaceful place to begin or end the day.



With two full bathrooms and an additional half bath, guests have the convenience of separate facilities while sharing the home.

Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown, La Copine, Joshua Tree village and Joshua Tree National Park all make good outings from Sage Moon.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

Sage Moon is a private, secluded home in Pioneertown, about 10 minutes from Pappy & Harriet's.

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



The roads are dirt, but low-riding cars can make it. Please note that there is no cell phone coverage at the property.



Other Things to Note:

-Cowboy Tub-

The pool at Sage Moon is a cowboy tub, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy tub is drained and unavailable for guest use during the winter months (November through March) to prevent the filter from freezing and breaking.



-House-Specific Rules-

► Please keep music at a reasonable volume and turn it off by the start of quiet hours.

► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

We have hot tub and cowboy tub cleanings twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, and these days may fall during your stay.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

For your security, there is an exterior camera facing the driveway. There are no cameras inside the home.



-Cell Service-

There is no cell phone coverage at the property. Wi-Fi is available, so please download maps and directions before you arrive.



-Damage Waiver Policy-
