The room was clean, the harbor view was incredible, and we watched a beautiful sunset over the mountains! The only thing to note, is it is on a steep hill which is a little tricky driving up to the hotel parking, so we parked on the street, which was fine.

The location was amazing, great selection of tv channels, and staff was very friendly. There was no air conditioning, therefore it was really warm while we were in Picton in the rooms (even with the windows open). That really hampered our enjoyment of the stay.

Clean room, amazing views, difficult parking. In room we booked for 4 people with 1 bed and 1 fold out couch, there was no bedding or pillows for foldout couch. Bed lamp was broken. Pretty expensive in peak season.

What a dirty disgusting hotel, firstly nice and polite, dropped our bag off and out for dinner, returned an hour later, decided to make a cuppa, took the lid off the kettle and wow what a shock to see brown slimy substance clinging to the sides, no way, decided to look further, opened the microwave to the most disgusting one ever, absolutely filthy and looked like it had been like it for a very long time, opened the draws to defined 3 out of 4 had mouse droppings, (shut) nearly threw up, same mouse phase been above the shower dome and pooped everywhere, fan had grown so much mould it gardly did its job, the hairdryer worked intermittently and had no testing tag, clearly was not safe, the bed was unbelievably the worst ever and should have been in a skip 25 years ago, absolutely shocking, could not get hold of anyone dispute numerous attempts, called in the morning to have a Indian fella be in total denial who put the phone down on more than one occasion. Be warned this place is so so bad, one of the worst places in New Zealand ever had to stay in, forced to stay as last minute due to our motorhome having a problem, never ever again and would rather stay on a park bench than stay at this health risk. Beware stay at your own peril.

The room offered was not as shown in the photos. I booked the room because the photos were good. When asked about the room as shown in photos. The owner of the hotel advised that he bought the hotel 1 month ago and he does not know why the front photos are in Expedia website. I dropped the key and left the room as it was dusty and not as expected. It is a mouldy room. It was a difficult decision to leave the room and run to find another hotel at 8 pm but it was not liveable so had to rush out. I donot know if Expedia will refund or not and also it’s difficult to communicate with Expedia but the hotel owner told that he will let Expedia know to refund me. Hopeful.

The view was stunning and it is in a perfect location. The staff were very helpful and ensured that we had late night access as our arrival was delayed by 6 hours due to a problem with the ferry. The property had everything we needed for our short self-catering stay. We are happy to recommend this property.

The view from the balcony was fantastic. The location was perfect for getting to the local trails and downtown easily. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there in pretty Picton!
