Great hotel

The hotel is beautiful, and has its own private beach. It’s not convenient to walk anywhere except for the few shops on smal road leading into the hotel - but that is because it’s tucked away in a beautiful area. The staff was very professional and very nice.

MAJOR renovations underway which means most restaurants CLOSED and reduced menu options. This was disappointing we only enjoyed the pizza and the BBQ. The rest of the meals not great. Excellent hotel, great amenities and very helpful staff. I usually give this property an Excellent rating, however this last visit I experienced a lot of noise during the evening hours from guest returning to their rooms. A suggestion would be to place signs indicating quiet hours so guest that are returning to their rooms will not awake guest that are sleeping.

We experienced exceptional service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The private beach and location was an oasis away from bustling traffic and securely situated between mountains on either side. The onsite Japanese restaurant was excellent and served Michelin level dishes with generous portions.

Extremely dated - a relic of the 80s

NOT a five star and shouldnt be advertised as such. Extremely dated - a relic of the 80s. Rooms are very tired. Our beds were creaking and extremely uncomfortable. The carpet in the corridors was stained and the whole floor smelt musty. I understand that it is about to undergo a renovation, but in the meantime, the hotel has no right to be charging the prices it is. What aggrieves me the most is that I paid more for this dump, than I did for the the other pallatial hotels we stayed in whilst in Thailand. The service was mediocre and nothing close to what you would expect from a five star hotel. The price I paid through Hotels.com was also higher than the hotel's own website, but that was still far too much. The beach was however very beautiful but such a shame it was attached to such a horrible hotel.
