Room was okay. Very dated. No safe and no small refrigerator. The sheets were clean but older and somewhat discolored. Bathroom was good and room temperature was comfortable. The coffee and muffins in the lobby was a nice touch. There was a lot of construction in the general area of hotel at this time.

The front desk staff just sit and watch customers struggle to get through the door with their luggage. Nobody offered to hold the door open or help with luggage during either of our two stays. As a mother with two kids, it was irritating and disappointing.

It’s said to be the most extensive wine selection in the world, and after catching a glimpse, I have no reason to doubt it. My next visit will certainly be a toast to that collection! The building itself is architectural poetry — stately, timeless, and full of character. Even the doors to each unit are miniature works of art, polished portals into cozy sanctuaries that radiate old-world charm. But what truly elevates the experience is the warmth of the people. The Front Desk Clerk wasn’t just helpful — he is the heartbeat of hospitality, offering a welcome that felt like a true introduction to the spirit of Philadelphia. And then, the serendipity — the kind of moment that turns a great stay into a treasured memory: just beyond my window, the water shimmered, and suddenly, the night erupted in a dazzling 15–20 minute fireworks display. Pure magic, framed perfectly by the historic windowpanes of my room. A stay here isn’t just accommodation — it’s an experience stitched together with elegance, warmth, and surprise.
