Pros: Amaury was a very nice, accommodating, and responsive host. Trundle bed worked perfectly for our two year old, and the kids (ages 5 and 2) loved the toys in the apartment. The location is wonderful in the northern Les Marais area, close to two Metro stops and a lot of restaurants. The neighbors in the building are very kind. We also appreciated to two sets of keys Amaury gave us. Staying in the apartment felt like a very authentic Parisian experience, since it is Amaury’s full-time home. Cons: The apartment was not super clean, and it smelled like cigarette smoke. We could not figure out how to plug the tub — I’m not sure the plug actually works — so the kids were unable to take a bath. There was no hand soap or shampoo in the apartment.

This place is "as advertised," which means it's tight quarters, but fully functional for a Paris getaway. The floors are beautiful, but ancient (two of our kids got splinters in their toes), the shower head sprays in 15 directions all at once, and there are things (books, toys, dishes, food, etc.) everywhere. It's very cluttered, but functional. The most annoying thing is the unadvertised and non-negotiable 150 Euros in cash that the host only tells you about after your booking becomes (partially) non-refundable. Essentially, the host is holding your booking hostage for 150 Euros because he can cancel it (again, unrefunded) if you don't pay. If you contact VRBO customer service about this, they tell you that's between you and the host and there's nothing they can do. If this extra fee were included in the booking, it would be understandable and transparent, but doing it this way is just wrong. What if my budget wouldn't allow for this extra 150 Euros? The whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Amaury was great to work with. FYI…He does ask for 150 euros for the checking in process that I hadn’t seen listed. The apartment is compact, but has everything you needed. The toilet is located in a separate part of the apartment which was a little different. The neighborhood is super cute, off the beaten path, and close to a few metro stations making it really convenient! My family didn’t spend a ton of time in the apartment, but it was perfect for what we needed.

Great property, check in issue

It’s a great place to stay. Great location, quiet, and close to everything. Lots of space for a European apartment. BUT: host demanded 150 Euros on check in and stated that it was a part of thenlisting when it isn’t. VRBO is useless when dealing with an issue like this and we were forced to choose between paying an additional fee and losing the booking. Mainly upset at VRBO for allowing it, but it started things off sour.

Home away from home

Great location - 30min walk to Notre Dame. Easy to get to from Gare du Nord. Comfortable apartment, a bit cluttered but it’s their home. But because of that it’s set up perfectly for a family. There’s a €150 extra cash fee, fyi.

Very good experience

The apartment was great to experience the Paris lifestyle. Host was very accommodating and friendly. Apartment had all the host's belongings, which was a bit weird. But kids loved playing with all the toys and books available. Was very nice for our short stay.

Cozy, classic French apartment

My family enjoyed this apartment. It’s in a convenient area, very close to several Metro stops, making it easy to get around Paris. Nearby restaurants and grocery stores are also nice. Would definitely return!

Good apartment in a great neighborhood

Everything was as advertised, and exactly what we were looking for. Great setup for 2 kids + 2 adults, and would also be fine with a third kid. Check in is easy, and Amaury is very easy to work with. Kitchen was easy to use, building was very quiet, and the apartment has a great view of the courtyard. The best part of this setup is the neighborhood. It's not a tourist area so you don't have to deal with all the issues that brings, and there are shops and restaurants everywhere. Multiple grocery stores within 5 minutes, a theater across the street, and everything else you could want within a few minutes walk. It's also only a couple minute walk to three different Metro stations in different lines, so getting around is extremely easy. Will definitely use again if we are ever back in Paris.

Positives: 1. Well situated near three metro stations 2. Nice area 3. Owner was very flexible in regards to check in time. 4. Apartment was clean with most amenities including wifi. Negatives: 1. Owner requested an extra 150 euros in addition to price on VRBO 2. Apartment is quite small -- 1 queen bed and 2 singles. 3. No A/C, though there are multiple fans. 4. 5th floor walkup (4th floor european). No elevator.

Perfect Location

We loved our five days in the apartment - the location was fantastic. We were close to cafes and in walking distance or a quick train ride to everything we wanted to do. Our host was super attentive via WhatsApp and the checkin process was very easy. The apartment was the right size and layout for our family of four and had everything we needed. The stairs were a lot but they help to balance all the great food we ate during our stay!

Well-located Paris apartment in beautiful building

The manager of the apartment was amazingly helpful, gave a walking tour of the neighborhood and was available for questions after. He even helped arrange parking at Garage Perrier just a few doors down, very convenient. All basics were good: quiet for good sleep, good wifi, pretty well-equipped kitchen. There is Monoprix and many shops and restaurants in the immediate area, and 3 different Metro stops close by. The quiet back street and the building were charming and felt very safe. Some things to be aware of: the bracket for the shower head was broken, so you had to hold the shower head with one hand. One of the beds is a bunk bed without substantial railings; however the sofa does convert into a bed. The apartment had a lot of personal belongings, reducing the amount of usable space. No AC, but they provided 3 good fans for the heat wave and it was tolerable. Overall, a good value for the money, and I would come back.

Friendly neighbours

The owners neighbour met us at the residence, showed us around the area, booked us a ride to the airport and was a really friendly guy. Neighborhood is very convenient. We could walk to Notre Dame and 2 metro stations nearby. Many restaurants, grocery stores and everything you need within walking distance.

Comfortable Stay at the 10th Arr.

Amaury's place is comfortable for 3 adults and a baby. The location is very easy to get to from/to the airport. The apartment is located in the middle of 3 metro stations - all less than 5 mins away from the apartment. Close too many restaurants, markets and cool vintage stores. Amaury is very kind and helpful during our stay. Merci for the hospitality!

Chicest Parisian Apartment!

Lovely apartment, gracious host, phenomenal communication. Close to public transit. You can get around Paris with ease. Quaint and delicious sushi restaurant just a few doors down. Apartment filled with love and light.

Perfect stay in Paris

The apartment was conveniently located to the metro and a short walk to Place de République. It faced a inner courtyard and was quiet. Good size for a family of 2 adult and 2 children. We would definitely rent from Amaury again when we return to Paris. Thank you!

Ho soggiornato con i miei figli per 9 giorni.L’appartamento è confortevole sia come dotazione che come posizione.Vicino a fermate metro da cui è possibile raggiungere ogni punto di Parigi,attrezzato con lavatrice e lavastoviglie che permettono di ridurre al minimo sia le incombenze dei pasti (nelle vicinanze è possibile trovare tanti locali caratteristici x i più pigri) che il numero di ricambi da portare in valigia. Il proprietario è un ospite disponibile ma discreto:per ogni esigenza contattatelo e vi fornirà l’assistenza necessaria senza mai essere o risultare invadente.Sicuramente da consigliare

Amaury's place is in a great location, within minutes of several metro stops, and with grocery stores and restaurants all up and down the street. In spite of the location on a busy street, we found it very quiet and restful there. Amaury is a great host, very accommodating and seeking ways to ensure that his guests are comfortable and have a great trip. Highly recommended!
