This stay was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, our room wasn’t ready, which we accepted, but when we returned, the elevator was broken. Our room was on the European 3rd floor—four flights of stairs. Management repeatedly assured us the elevator would be fixed, yet it never was for the entire five nights. My husband has bad knees, and the constant stair climbing left him in severe pain that continues nearly a month later. Their repeated promises felt like lies.
The room itself was in terrible condition. The couch was filthy and dingy, clearly not cleaned in years. The dishwasher was broken. The in-room phone didn’t work, nor did the front desk phone. Only one bottle of water was provided, forcing us to navigate stairs just to refill it. Did I sign up for an airbnb?? Housekeeping was abysmal: bathrooms were never cleaned daily, hair left on the floor, towels not replaced even if deliberately left on the floor. The safe was already locked when we checked in. We reported all these issues immediately, and nothing was fixed—not a single problem addressed during our stay.
The only positive was the front desk staff, who were polite and courteous, and did help with our luggage. But management failed completely. Compensation promised at checkout never materialized, and corporate never followed up. This stay was not just disappointing—it was an ordeal. I will never stay at another Sonder property, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to avoid this hotel at all costs.
