The apartment is absolutely lovely: large, bright, nicely furnished, with a very well equipped kitchen with all appliances working well. The elevator to the 6th floor is very small (two adults are a squeeze). French doors in the living and dining rooms open out to a balcony which runs the length of the apartment. The apartment is located in the 14th arrondisement which is a residential area. There are many food shops, and a large supermarket less than a 10 minute walk away. The Metro entrance is very close as well as good bus service. However, the usual tourist attractions are not within walking distance. There were several communication challenges with the landlord. For example, he gave us the building address but not the apartment number which we assumed would be on the key which we had to pick up from a shop several blocks away. Since the apartment number was not on the key we had to figure it out by trying the key in several apartment doors until one of them opened. Prepare to ask him detailed questions as he seems to lack experience in anticipating the renter's needs.
