This Hotel is amazing! From the greetings at check in to the good bye at check out the staff were very attentive and amazing. The hotel has 4 restaurants each one with a different theme and food selection; we tried all and the food, prices, and staff were beyond of amazing. Hotel is in the center of Casco Viejo, very close to all attractions. Thank you the staff and I will definitely will recommend.

Room for Improvement

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately found the service and overall experience below expectations for a property that markets itself as a luxury hotel. Check-in was not particularly friendly, and as a Gold member with Hotels.com/Expedia, I was supposed to receive a welcome bottle of sparkling wine — which was neither offered nor acknowledged until I inquired. Even then, the staff did not seem aware or interested in recognizing Gold member benefits so we did not get anything. The room itself was decent and relatively clean, but the location was odd — facing a small courtyard with a direct view of the entrance, which compromised privacy. Basic amenities such as slippers and a luggage holder were missing and had to be requested, with some delay in delivery. During our stay, it rained heavily, and we were told there were umbrellas in our room — there weren’t. When we asked for replacements, staff refused to provide any, leaving us to go out without cover. Housekeeping also overlooked simple details such as replacing used shower caps and replenishing tissues. Breakfast offered a good spread, but again, service was lacking. The breakfast host was curt and abrupt, which left a poor impression to start the day. Overall, while the property itself has potential, the lack of attentiveness and service orientation made the stay disappointing. For a hotel positioning itself as a high-end experience, there’s significant room for improvement in guest care and staff training.

I had a wonderful stay at Central Hotel Panama! The hotel is historic, beautifully maintained, and exceptionally clean. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and consistently reliable—we truly felt welcomed and well cared for. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Casco Viejo and surrounded by vibrant culture, dining, and history. As solo female travelers, we felt completely safe and at ease throughout our stay, both inside and outside the hotel. The ambience of the hotel is elegant yet inviting, with thoughtful touches that reflect the charm of Panama. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and attention to detail. I loved staying here and would gladly return—again and again. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality in Panama City.

Good things: Hotel Located in a really good area. Lounge, bar and restaurant are cute. Bad things: The Manager at the front desk not helpful at all, really bad customer experience. We just avoided the argument, it was holidays. Suite room not worth it. A bit small and in a dark corner of the building. Not recommended at all.

The hotel did not send transport to pick us from the airport as duly booked and confirmed. When we asked the head of transportation, he was extraordinarily rude. The manager refused to talk about it and said just talk to reception. The hotel illegally deducted transport cost from my $400 deposit, even though it was never sent and we came in a taxi. The rude attitude spoiled the stay even though the hotel was great in other aspects.
