The room was clean ample room for the twin queen beds. It was quiet and acceptable to storesnand Joshua tree. The issue was the mineral pools were cool and one hit a high of hotter then hot, they had to close it down for a few hours.

Cool property, looks very 1960s but it's very run down. Room and hotel is well worn. Staff is very kind and helpful. Overall a decent experience but the ambience could use improvement.

The best part of my experience here was the receptionist upon my arrival, Brandy. She was amazing! There were a few great things about my stay and one negative thing that is quite concerning. for me. Brandy made me feel very welcome and was a much needed smile at the end of a long day driving and working. I came to Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel because I needed to clear my head and work on some music without all the noise of the city and my relationships. Brandy helped me get a room on the lower floor which was probably the most important thing she could have done to make my stay so much better. When I walked into my room, I immediately smelled smoke like it had been smoked in. It was not super overwhelming, so I let it go. Otherwise, the room was pretty clean, fresh sheets and blankets on the beds, and ample space with several amenities like a coffee maker and a fridge, which I found extremely helpful. The pools were great. I loved swimming in the large pool an getting some laps in. I enjoyed the hot tubs as well, especially the first night when they were very hot and felt so nice. The ambience of the pool area was incredible and gave the place a magical vibe. It was nice to enjoy the water with the lighting and palm trees under a clear sky with bright stars. All of this really helped me get myself into a better headspace. My only concern was waking up with an eye infection (unknown cause) my second morning. Super concerning, which accounts for the lower rating.
