The flat is well presented, nicely furnished and clean. The view from the terrace is lovely and it was a pleasure to sit out. It’s well located for the beach and a parking space is a real plus. However, there are a few things I wish we’d known in advance:
1) it is a very busy street! There’s drunk shouting all evening and the pubs next door can be very loud.
2) the flat is above a Chinese restaurant, which isn’t a problem but the vent from the kitchen fan runs through the lounge of the flat and hums constantly.
3) the flat has metal slat shutters and no blinds. I fed back to the agent and he told me it wasn’t advertised as having them. In a summer holiday rental it would seem logical to at least have curtains, if not blackouts - it’s flooded with light from 4am.
My main concern was with the en-suite shower. As a family of 5, we specifically took a rental with 2 bathrooms. Unfortunately there was a problem with the thermostat on the second shower and it was so hot it was dangerous to use. we notified the agent who told us we hadn’t told them soon enough (it was a bank holiday weekend and offices are shut). A plumber came after we left and and reported no problem which means the issue we had has not been fixed - if you use this property please be careful!
