I’ve been staying at this hotel for nearly 10 years, a few nights every few months, but the service & overall condition have noticeably declined on recent visits. It no longer reflects the standards expected from a Sheraton or any reputable 4- or 5-star brand.
I arrived on a Saturday night at 10:15 pm to find no dining options—not even at the bar. By 10:45 the bar was closing and by 11 pm the lights were off while I was still finishing two quick glasses of wine and some nuts—my only dinner. I’ve never experienced a 4- or 5-star hotel where food & drinks stop so early; even a Holiday Inn serves until nearly 1 am. This was never the case before, when this hotel even had live music on weekends.
More than half the bar & restaurant staff now speak little or no English, and many guests were openly complaining to the staff, that night as the bar shut while a match was still on TV. Guest rooms haven’t been updated since my first stay and already feel dated. Even the breakfast variety has shrunk noticeably.
I’ve always loved this hotel for its once-excellent service, the lively bar, and its convenient highway access, but I’ll have to reconsider future stays if these issues aren’t addressed.
