La Maison du Garde - PADIRAC

Nestled in the heart of the charming village of Padirac, in the Lot department, this house—typical of the region—looks as if it stepped right out of a living painting. This vacation rental was once the home of the caretaker of Padirac Castle. It offers a direct view of the castle’s facade and entrance, which is how it earned its name. With its weathered stone facade, traditional thatched roof sheltered by an old-tile roof, and exposed beams that bear witness to the centuries, this vacation rental embodies the authentic spirit of Quercy. The charm is immediate upon entering: the tastefully decorated living room invites you to relax. The garden, a small haven of greenery, welcomes you for breakfast or aperitifs in the golden light of twilight. Just a few steps away, a small village café adds to the friendly atmosphere: perfect for a morning coffee or a drink on the terrace after a day of exploring. And what an adventure! The famous Gouffre de Padirac is just a stone’s throw away. You can plunge into the depths of the earth in the morning and return to the comforting warmth of your stone cocoon in the evening. This cottage is more than just a place to stay: it’s an enchanted retreat in the heart of the Lot, where time stands still. The cottage is located along the road in the village of Padirac and is attached on one side (to a village house). An outdoor staircase leads to the covered terrace.
