£130 for a tip of a room 4m x 4m. This is a 1980s £15 per night Blackpool B&B at best. Barely space to walk around the bed, There are roadworks outside the hotel (Months ongoing) so a diesel generator ran all night outside the bedroom window - but the owner did give us earplugs when we checked in,and a 6ft x 3ft piece of insulation was resting against the stained net curtains. Carpets stained and threadbare, "Buffet breakfast" was cereal and toast. I stay in hotels 2/3 nights every week for work and for £100-£130 you can get you nice hotels with a pool and a brakfast not in a packet. This is an absolute sh1theap you should avoid like the plague. Whoever gave this place 10/10 outstanding reviews (or anything above 2/10) are obviously blood relatives of the owners or the owners.....................

The owner said he tried to tell us about the construction by the railroad and asked that guests get the information before they arrive. He was wonderful and our stay was too but it would have helped to know how to get there. We were very confused.

Steve was extremely helpful and personable. We felt welcomed and safe at Westgate. Breakfast was very good! A great place to stay close to the train station and York centre. A great stay!

Free breakfast was adequate for a few days but got too routine for our 5 day stay. Water pressure for our 3rd floor room was unacceptable as well as water temperature. Shampoo disappeared every other day. All of the staff were exceedingly nice.

Friendly hotel

Easy check in, friendly owners. Ideally placed close, to train station and walking into Oxford. Bedroom compact but had everything we needed hairdryer on request. It was very clean and the bed was comfy. Continental breakfast and option to upgrade to cooked breakfast. Work going on outside but did not hamper our stay. Would return.

Good location average place to stay

Location good with a short walk not the city centre. Staff, very friendly. Breakfast very basic, cereals, juice, coffee/tea, some fruit, toast and pastries included anything else is charged extra. Parking at another hotel £12,50 a night. Hotel, not sure you can call it that more like a B&B, we were in the Annexe rooms, short walk from the hotel, but the room was very dated, bed was not comfortable along with very basic amenities and not even a wardrobe in the room, shared bathroom was ok, newly renovated. Place is not worth the money we paid that’s for sure.

Breakfast was good and the staff were great, but it struggled to make up for the uncomfortable room. The ‘annex’ to the hotel is an old run down single front house that is down the street and around the corner, a bit further than we anticipated carrying our luggage. The beds were not particularly comfortable and the heat seemed to trap in the room no matter how long we left the windows open. Definitely dated for the price.

Lovely Hotel

Great hotel with excellent location to the city of Oxford. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the beds comfortable. We stayed in the annexe with a shared bathroom but this was absolutely fine. I loved sitting in the garden area and the whole hotel had a nice homely feel to it. The continental breakfast is included in the room price but for a little extra you can order hot food. This always came really promptly and was freshly cooked. I will definitely stay here again when I next visit Oxford. My kids loved it too.
