It’s a functional stay, not a luxurious stay. For the price it makes sense. The place is very bare bones. 4 closets but zero hangers. A shower but no shampoo or body wash. A bed but with the thinnest pillow. The place advertises WiFi but ours did not work. We were given check in instructions with two different WiFi details. Neither worked. The entry door and router also had WiFi details, neither worked. They’ve changed their WiFi name without updating the four locations provided to us. The elevator in the building broke during our stay. Someone in the building said it’s common to have elevator problems.

The instructions for how to pick up the key were quite obscure and later in the evening was a little concerning. Calling the emergency number resulted in no answer or support or return call. Additionally, the address provided at time of booking was not the address of the actual apartment. The apartment itself was small but basically appointed. Small things like soap in the bathroom, a dish towel, and a few small items in the kitchen like salt and pepper would have made a big difference. It was nice to have working laundry with pods provided. With such a high cleaning fee, it was surprising that we were responsible to take out the garbage and find a recycling depot.

The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and quiet, with everything we needed for a short stay. The reception office was very welcoming. If there was any improvement to be made it would an extra pillow each.

Kitchen good, living room and balcony were very nice. Bedroom bed took up most of the room, so there was a door on either side of the bed, very querky but designed well. Barhroom very small , no shower tray and unable to open washing machine door fully, but that is the only negative. Very nice stay in Oslo, would come and stay again.

Dryer in washer/dryer combo did not work. Be prepared to sleep on a thin sheet. Was not aware property was about 5km from the check in spot. Area felt safe in the daytime, but at night it was a bit sketchy.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Our stays was in a Luxury 3 bed appt. It was TERRIBLE. Nothing like the pictures. Appartment was in a block with neighbours who let their kids run up and down the corridor at midnight, parties going on until 03.00am), drunks passed out in the stairwell. The balcony view was of another appartment block opposite. No view what-so-ever And worst of all, when I returned home I was accused of taking the TV from the appartment They had already charged my credit card for the loss....before even speaking to me. And I did not take a 42" TV from the apt, board a train, then a plane, to get it back home... AVOID

Ideal location

Great location with easy access to the Opera House and Munch museum. Well equipped and clean. Instructed to leave the keys in the apartment on leaving. This was awkward as they were needed to access the garage where the car was parked. No instructions were given for this at check in so just be aware if you have a car with you. It meant that the car had to be left on the road while the keys were returned to the apartment, not ideal.

Lock out for more than 2 hours with little help

I have been lock outside for 2 hours be cause de battery in the lock where down. Issue that suppose to take 5 min to resolve took note than 2 hours. I had to go to the office (5 min away) 3 times to get this matter solves. Really poor management.

Lovely central apartment

Excellent, spacious 3 bed apartment. Comfortable beds and very quiet despite being in a central location. Walking distance to lots of the sights, and close to grocery stores. Only downside was that we weren’t able to use the balcony or fully open the balcony door, as there was scaffolding up, which I don’t believe we were told about when booking. (I expect this has gone now.) My child accidentally left a special toy in the apartment when we left - a special thank you to Sophie who found it and arranged shipping it home.

Our stay at Bjørkiva Apartments was very pleasant. The apartment was very clean, spacious, and well appointed. Plenty of cutlery, glasses and bowls/plates. The washing machine and dishwasher were also very useful. The street outside did get a quite noisy after midnight, so the windows needed to be closed, which meant the apartment got very warm. Luckily there was a fan provided which made things easier. Overall, a very good apartment in an excellent area.

The staff makes this place awesome!

I had problems finding the front desk and check-in but the staff was great once I got a hold of someone. We also visited during a heat wave and had problems being able to open our windows and the staff was absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to help us be comfortable on our honeymoon.

These apartments are not meant for Holiday makers. You are assigned an apartment when you check in. The apartment is not in the building at the address where hotels.com lists is. It is in a residential building. The standard is poor. The cost is too high for what you get. Do not expect air conditioning, do not expect decent furnishings, do not expect a quiet night's sleep. Do not expect oven utensils. Do not expect to be satisfied.

The apartment was nice and clean. The location was good and right above a grocery store. There should have been two fans provided since they were experiencing a heat wave but only one was provided. Our apartment was in direct sun so it got very hot. I paid a hefty price for cleaning service and no cleaning service was provided. If we wanted fresh towels, there is a fee. We had to remove our own trash. That was very disappointing. Location was central and close to Oslo station and bus terminal.

The cleaning fee was high but didn’t cover any service. For the price paid, cleaning service should be included. Also, for a 2 bedroom suite 2 fans should be provided as it was very hot given no AC in the building. Communication was good and the apartment was spacious with nice decor and comfortable. Good location for walking around. Close to Oslo S train station and Oslo bus terminal. Enjoyed our stay, just wished for cleaning service given cost of accommodation.

Hot and noisey

Nice apartment close to the central train station. However, if you want to sleep later than 5 am, stay elsewhere. Delivery trucks and garbage trucks arrive every morning starting at 5 am and wake you up repeatedly. It might be tolerable if you could close the windows, but then the apartment becomes very hot. Also, there was no salt, no oil and no spatula, but there were 4 different serving spoons / strainers.

This was a great property to stay in - all the equipment you need to cook, but bring your own tea, coffee, salt etc... Other than some rather thin towels, we couldn't fault it. Great check in and left luggage. Would recommend!

We had a disappointing experience. The apartment provided was not the same as the one shown during booking on Expedia. On arrival, we also found that the dishwasher was not working, and our message about this went unanswered. Despite a cleaning fee already being included, we were later charged an additional $100 — apparently because towels were left on the floor, which is very surprising. We did not damage anything, and with four young children and an early morning flight, we did our best to leave the place in a decent condition. When I raised concerns over the extra cleaning charge (which was made to my card without consent), I received a response blaming us for not placing towels "correctly." This felt excessive and unfair. Overall, I would not recommend this stay due to poor communication, misleading listing, and unreasonable charges.
