2/10 Terrible

The location is the only positive aspect of this hotel. It is right in the middle of a central tourist area, close to Nippombashi Station, Kuromon Market, Dotonbori, and Nipponbashi. Unfortunately, everything else about the hotel is a disappointment and feels more like a rundown motel than a proper hotel.
The moment you step inside, you are hit with a strong chemical, almost peppery smell. The elevator ride up does not get any better. The carpet is dingy and ripped, there is no air conditioning, and the space feels muggy.
The room itself was even worse. The first thing I noticed was a strong, musty fishy odor. The layout makes the space feel extremely cramped, with almost no room to move around. The closet is just a tiny sliver, and the only desk doubles as a makeup table, dining space, and storage area for cups, a refrigerator, and a safe. Between the beds, there is not even a real nightstand, only a small cut-out box. The lighting is controlled by odd push buttons, both by the bed and near the front door, which feel outdated and inconvenient.
The bathroom is the strangest and most problematic part. You have to step up to enter and then step down, which feels unsafe. Inside, the space is cramped with a miniature sink, a toilet squeezed in, and a tiny bathtub you literally have to climb into. It feels like a makeshift setup, almost like a mobile home bathroom, and a slip or fall seems very likely.
Overall, despite the great location, this hotel was a terrible experience.
