For the price I paid, the rooms were like a motel not a hotel. There were bugs in the room especially in the bathroom. Pool was small and no seats. Don’t recommend at all. Terrible!

Canceling family vacation plans for the Lodge

There was no ventilation in the bathroom, the choice of food between all venues was very limited. The table at HK’s they sat us at was sticky and unclean, the menu had food stuck to it, my wife’s silverware was dirty. Although the Japanese garden was nice, the property was in great disrepair, rotted wood throughout the property. The coffee was atrocious. I was thinking of planning a family vacation for 15 people but not now so much.

This is an older property that won awards for its design years ago. It has been well maintained though some original art has been removed (i.e. large Indian statue in lobby).

Our stay was ok. Nothing really bad, but nothing great either. The one thing I will say is that the pools were very clean and well maintained. The Japanese gardens were very pretty. The plants in the spa pool area need a lot of love - most were dead. The frozen drink at Fire and Ice tasted mildewy like the machine needed cleaning. Overall the resort could really be grand if the new owners put money into it. The vintage vibe is cool but needs a freshening up as it’s very dated.

The hotel is out of date, which is fine, but the condition of the hotel was deplorable. The door handle was hard to open, the door frame in the balcony was rotten and falling apart, carpets stained, shower would not drain and held a lot of water while showering, and bugs were everywhere. The ice machine also had spiderwebs and bugs in the tray

Only had a one night stay experience. The lobby area is very nice with a restaurant a spa and a boutique. The pool areas were extremely nice with beautiful gardens surrounding them and a beverage service conveniently located. We stayed in the main hotel and didnt have the issues reported in some of the reviews. The room was comfortable & spacious enough but The carpets could be updated and i rate the cleanliness as a little less than average. The lake view was enjoyable.

I had a work conference here and the property is in need of a serious update. My rooms bathroom also had black mold on the ceiling. All of the staff at the property were wonderful and super friendly, which might be its only saving grace at the moment. I would not stay here again unless renovations are made, especially when there are much nicer options in the area at the same price point.
