Quaint and clean

Quaint hotel! Very clean and well maintained. Great location for walking the city, with many restaurants easily within walking distance. The included breakfast was an added bonus. Definitely recommend!

At first I was put off by a self-check in system that takes your ID to verify, but after looking at other reviews my mind was put at ease. PROS: Location, decor, quiet, free breakfast (we noticed pastries and bread were available throughout the day as well), easy check in (there is a clearly marked sign out front that we missed, but that was user error. When we walked up to the door we could get on the hotel's free WiFi and checked my email for code access. Not a con but just an FYI: It's on a pedestrian street, so parking wasn't the easiest but we did find street parking with only an 11 minute walk.

Third floor walk up room, no elevators!👎 Automatic Access System initially inoperative as could not send texts to US phones. Was able to access manually thanks to remote operator. The next day I was able to chat online and got an Email for access. Thereafter good. Excellent lounge and breakfast well handled by local manager. Very clean overall. Large room but needs more towel holders. Quite a good place if you have a room on the ground floor or first floor.

Pros outweigh the cons, however … Pros - Charming, spacious ,spotlessly clean rooms in a converted 18th century building steps from the cathedral on the edge of the pedestrian zone of the historic old town. We had two adjoining rooms with a shared kitchen that we didn’t use, as they had a breakfast room with a sumptuous spread downstairs. Cons: Despite ten minutes on the phone with a rep, they couldn’t get us connected by text or email to their wireless, keyless entry system. The rep had to let us in remotely and get us set up with back-up physical keys. (There is no front desk.) We were on the fourth floor with no elevator, and the closest you can get to the front door in a car is a hundred yards or so - but there is safe spotless indoor parking next to the cathedral around the corner. If the check-in had been smoother it would have been four stars. Certainly a great value, in any case.

Our stay here was really marred by the check-in process. First off, when we went to complete the online check-in, we never received the text the system said we would receive. When we ultimately called, we were told that was because the system was incompatible with US phones. We eventually got in after speaking to someone on the phone, but it probably took us almost 45 minutes to get in the door. Secondly, check-in in is at 4 and there is no option for an early check-in. They do offer secure luggage storage, but only for smaller suitcases, so we had to tote around our large suitcase for several hours even after eventually getting through the front door. Then we had another similar US phone system issue when we went to get the code for our door. Once we finally had access, our stay was fairly comfortable: the room was nicely remodeled and felt new, the hotel is well located, and the breakfast was very adequate. I'd just caution anyone with a large suitcase and/or a US phone about the cumbersome check-in process.

This is a budget hotel that does not always have somebody at reception during the day, and they don’t answer their phone timely (25 -30 mins for a call back). They rely on your phone being charged and working perfectly to access the QR code, receive a text, and punch the code in to open the door. If something goes wrong with the technology, you’re screwed as I was left standing in the pouring rain for 20 minutes. A guest came out, went in to look around for an employee for 5 minutes and was unable to find anybody to help. They told us the QR code was also needed to access the room so if your phone isn’t receiving texts perfectly (36 hours later I still have not received the text with the code) you are stuck. They did call back about 30 minutes after my first call for help, but had already checked into a different hotel by that time. They also sent me messages after that saying it was my fault. Terrible customer service experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you want to rely on flimsy technology or risk getting stuck with no room (and up to this point no refund).

Hotel très bien situé, confortable, à deux pas de la cathédrale, du centre historique, du bord de Loire. Tout est parfait. Une seule remarque : nous avons été frappés par l'anonymat de cette hotel, entrée avec un code, pas d'accueil, idem au petit déjeuner, on ne voit personne, cela semble un peu étrange. Par ailleurs, le petit déjeuner est parfait avec des bons produits, du vrai café, du fromage local et des produits frais. Par contre, dans notre chambre, impossible de faire fonctionner la climatisation, dommage car il faisait très chaud (canicule). Sinon cet hotel est tout simplement parfait aussi bien en équipement qu'en confort, situation centrale, mais au calme. Un rapport qualité prix au top ! Si nous repassons par Orléans, nous n'hésiterons pas à revenir.

The check-in process; it requires you to access to the internet (WiFi) or strong mobile phone signals in order to activate the digital keys (to open the gate & your room). My phone has very weak signals and unable to open the link to the hotel website for directions/instructions to the digital keys .... To make the matter worse; the hotel only sends you the above inf. at 16:00 on the date of your arrival and no sooner; in my case, by the luck of the draw, they forgot to send it to me on time. This check-in procedure is a bit of stressful, because if you arrive early then you have the whole luggage to drag along until you're able to open the gate at 16:00 at the earliest. The room itself was clean & spacious; the room service staffs were nice/friendly/helpful. The location of the hotel is very close to the Cathedrale Ste. Croix which you could see the towers from the windows of your room. There're many other tourist attractions nearby.

L'endroit est beau, joliment rénové, très bien situé... mais le recours au numérique et l'absence de personnel sur place pour optimiser les coûts complique considérablement les choses. Je n'ai reçu la clé numérique (page web) que pour une seule des deux chambres que j'avais réservées. J'ai donc appelé le centre d'appel qui a mis longtemps à répondre "en raison d'un grand nombre d'appels". J'ai fini par avoir quelqu'un qui s'est engagé à m'envoyer immédiatement la 2e clé numérique... que je n'ai pas reçue. J'ai donc rappelé et mon interlocuteur m'a dit qu'il ne pouvait pas m'envoyer la clé, mais ne m'a pas rappelé pour proposer une solution (!). La discussion tournant en rond car il maîtrisait mal le français, j'ai basculé en anglais. Après m'avoir donné plusieurs codes inopérants, il a fini par en trouver un qui fonctionne. Galère du même genre le lendemain pour récupérer mon bagage dans la bagagerie libre-service car ma clé numérique avait expiré. Bref, le concept hôtelier marche sûrement très bien sur PowerPoint mais moins bien dans la vraie vie.

Eine wunderbare Unterkunft. Das Haus wurde sehr geschmackvoll renoviert und das Frühstück ist klasse. Gerne wieder! Die Parkmöglichkeiten in den Parkgaragen sind nur Minuten entfernt und das Hotel liegt in Nähe der Kathedrale und in der Altstadt. Super!

La chambre était super, le lieu "ravitaillement " génial, cosy et très pratique, le petit déjeuner varié et complet. La jeune fille présente le matin était douce ,souriante et efficace. Le seul bémol est l'application pour rentrer en autonomie dans l'hôtel. Pas assez explicite et nous ramenait à chaque fois au départ du process. Il faudrait la simplifier.
