"I chose this hotel based on its online description and photos, which present it as a charming and comfortable beachfront property with ocean views and an extensive breakfast offering. Unfortunately, the reality did not match those expectations. The hotel is actually about five blocks from the beach, making the “beachfront” claim misleading, and the advertised ocean views are not realistically available from the property. The breakfast was also quite limited compared to what was suggested online. As someone traveling from outside of Spain, I relied on the accuracy of the information provided and had no reasonable way to verify these discrepancies in advance. That made the experience particularly frustrating. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the staff at the reception desk were helpful and courteous during my stay, which I appreciated. However, overall, the misleading advertising significantly impacted my experience, and I would recommend that future guests look carefully beyond the hotel’s promotional materials before booking."

"The hotel itself was gorgeous and our adjoining rooms for my party of four was wonderful. I rarely leave bad reviews, but I’ve stayed at varying levels of hotels, and for the lovely amenities offered at this hotel, the food and drink options were disappointing. When we checked into the hotel the only food option available was the higher end restaurant. We had hoped to have a light, affordable meal either at a mid-range price point or room service. Neither was available. I can’t speak about the breakfast, but the coffee was almost undrinkable. As for the main dinner restaurant the presentation was lovely, but the food was mediocre for the caliber. Of approximately ten options listed on the menu, only two were not vegetarian. We ordered several dishes, with the mixed vegetables being the best and the steak being the worst. The steak was chewy, unevenly salted, and lacked flavor. Overall, I would stay here again, but would be prepared to eat/drink in town. "

"We had an absolutely perfect stay at Akelarre, from our initial welcome, to our lovely breakfasts, to all the very thoughtful snacks and treats left in our room each afternoon and evening. We felt genuinely cared for each day by the entire staff. Our room was clean, spacious, well-equipped, comfortable, and beautiful. And the location provided the most spectacular views from the common areas as well as from our room. Indoor self parking was included and convenient. Everything about the property and the staff showed attention to detail and genuine care for the experience. This was hands down our best, most unforgettable travel experience anywhere, and we travel a lot. "
