"Perfectly peaceful oceanfront escape! We had an incredible stay at this oceanfront home on Cat Island. It was wonderfully remote, but the home had everything we needed included great internet. The private, gated pool was a huge plus that made us feel like we had our private paradise. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made cooking so easy. We highly recommend ordering dinner from the care-taker for the first night. It was delicious and a warm welcome our first night there. We lived exploring the island's local charming restaurants and one of our favorites was just a 5 minute walk away. Fresh seafood was plentiful and snorkeling was right on front of the house. The crystal clear water was unforgettable. It was an unforgettable trip and we will definitely be back. This house is perfect for anyone looking for a well-appointed house and a quiet peaceful get away. "

The location is truly unbeatable—private, peaceful, and just steps from our very own stretch of pristine beach. Every morning we woke up to turquoise water, and we could snorkel right out front where we spotted parrot fish, grouper, snappers, rays, and so much more along the beautiful reefs. The cottage’s caretaker was incredibly kind and helpful, giving us great tips on other gorgeous, secluded beaches to explore around the island. The owners recently added Starlink internet which was great for reliable internet when we did want to use it. We absolutely loved the laid-back island atmosphere—no crowds, no noise, just pure relaxation. At night, the sky was breathtaking; with no light pollution, we could see millions of stars and even the Milky Way.Banana Wind is truly a hidden gem. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a quiet, authentic island getaway, and we can’t wait to return!"

"The property is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. However, the listing was a bit misleading—only one bedroom and the bunkhouse were accessible, not the three bedrooms and baths advertised. There was no access to a washer/dryer, and the upstairs shower had very low water pressure. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom also lacked window coverings, which made privacy an issue. That said, the host was responsive and assured us these concerns would be addressed with the property manager."
