Arriving to the OKANA property, I was impressed w/the size & option of things to do @ the property. Easy & convenient parking. Lobby was a bit warm, but no biggie, I’m sure my room will be nice & cold. Check-in: A nice lady approached me & showed me to their check-in kiosks, cool & super efficient. Unfortunately, my driver’s license was expired by 1 week, kiosk wouldn’t let me finish checking in, the nice lady told me to go to the front desk & they would help me get checked in. Again, no biggie…except the new lady I spoke to was immediately rude & told me there was nothing she could do for me because my DL was expired. I was beside myself. I asked her what the problem was because she could obviously see the DL was me & it was only expired by a week. She just kept telling me there was nothing she could do even though my room was already fully prepaid for. I then asked her, “what information are you taking and keeping from my DL that you can’t check me in with it because it’s expired?” Her response was “well if you went to a bank to cash a check with this expired DL they wouldn’t let you.” Not sure what that had to do with anything but things had to get escalated to a manager who IMMEDIATELY said “yeah this isn’t a problem at all” which further upset me. Then I was told I’m being charged $200 for incidentals & would be credited if I didn’t buy/take anything. I asked why they charged up front & she got loud & argumentative. I was SO done at that point. I’ll never return here.
