This property advertises a heated pool. This is the second year that I have stayed at the Powderhorn and the pool has been cold. This is extremely disappointing and I will not return again. Shame for Ohakune.

One of the my favorite hotels on month-long trip to New Zealand. After hiking 6-hour Tongariro, the expansive hot tub-pool at Powderhorn was just what the doc ordered. Laundry room on the floor a plus -- and hotel dining facilities (for dinner and breakfast) were very good.

Probably the best you can get for the area, but the wear and tear on this place is hard and the maintenance is lagging. If your expectations are not set at high end resort levels you will probably not be disappointed.

We had an excellent stay and the staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities are very nice in general. Perhaps some things like the bathrooms looking a little dated but nothing major.
