A week on a boat..October 18
Travelled from the UK with my son,not initially that enthusiastic.thankfully, changed on our arrival. Expected to make beautiful Portsmouth our focus but Kittery took over. Suzanne (the boat owner) ensured everything was organised for our stay. The Reef was private, despite, boats being closeby..The beds were very comfy, combined with gentle water sounds aided our sleep... Planned to rent a car,but local taxis for shopping and theatre night so reasonable didn't bother. $60 in all, including the return to C and J bus station, for Logan.Spent two very sunny days relaxing on the boat roof terrace, just bobbing about in the glorious sunshine. Entertained by the real working life of the river. Local restaurants provided all yummy food,Beach pea, is a must for lunch! Kate's cafe for great coffee and cake tho limited..it does overlook the Piscatuqa. We discovered the lively, pretty theatre in Kittery,my son chose the Indian restaurant for dinner which was the best..Discovered the reasonable Fabulous find which sells preloved clothing jewellery art..(money goes to local charity)...bought some quirky gifts. Kittery mall one day,we lunched at the fish restaurant and sat outside. Perfect! Perhaps Portsmouth next time.
