We got there about 30 minutes early and were able to check-in and rent a golf cart right away. Everything was perfect from check-in to checkout. The room was clean and quiet and the history of the lodge oozed from every corner. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates a quiet laid back atmosphere with lots of history.

Very pleasant hotel experience. I will stay here again. Convenient location which is within walking distance to several restaurants for supper, and a nice coffee shop for breakfast. Staff was genuinely interested in helping make our stay wonderful. Room was clean with plenty of hot water, and cold AC.

The staff were friendly and check in was nice and simple. The room seemed pretty clean but the shower tub spit out some muck when the sink was turned on to wash your hands. It also seemed to have a hard time to drain the water.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Originally from Maui, Ocracoke reminded us very much of old Lahina and Paia towns. Black Beards Lodge is funky and awesome. Our room was clean and comfortable with great rocking chairs out on the front porch to watch the birds and people watch. Its a great location for walking to restaurants and just up the street from the Ocracoke Coffee Co. Only minor suggestion would be to attach a hook on the bathroom door. With the windows open the bathroom door of our room wouldn't stay shut. We will definitely be back for another visit! Thank you for your hospitality!
