For the price and location I give 3 stars. It's an old place so you expect some wear. I almost gave it a one star because on the second day I discovered unwanted roommates, roaches. I spent the second day there washing, cleaning, and packing my things into my car to be sure I didn't take any roaches with me. All this was done with both balcony and front door open because I went out and bought roach spray to keep them at bay while I removed most of my stuff from the room. Other than that, the location is great, close to literally everything; restaurants, gas station, beach, etcetera. And, the fact that I want bothered with the does opened let me to believe it was a safe environment. I doubt I'll go back because I like to have my own food and drinks so I save which is why I picked this place, the price couldn't be beat. But if haven't a room with a fridge and microwave means sharing it with roaches, I'm good. I just really hate roaches.

This stay I felt very unsafe. The window had no lock, the doors secondary lock was broken, no fire alarm, no screen on window, homeless sleeping on the stairs blocking entry to our level.

The grounds and room were just ok. I bet in its prime this hotel was great. It used to be a Motel 6 cause they still have the signs in the rooms. It’s a cute little space and would be very nice if better maintained. The room itself smelled musty and like weed. We had to open the doors and windows to let it air out. The room had clearly been cleaned but also had areas that are obviously neglected between guests. It could use a “deep cleaning”. The toilet did not work. I took the lid off to find the handle was not attached. During our stay we had to keep the lid off so we could reach back for the button to flush it. The worst part about this hotel was actually the residents. The place was unfortunately filled with what seemed to be people who live there. Groups and individuals loitering in the parking lot all night, yelling at each other across the grounds, roaming all over all night, and going into various rooms. Car alarms were going off all night. I was fearful for my car so parked it near my window and checked it often, getting very little sleep that night. I only planned to sleep there with my family before a trip to Legoland the next day, so I opted for something inexpensive. I should have shopped around a little more, cause I got what I paid for. Disappointing.
